Was wondering if anyone has these symptoms from long term taking of antidepressants.
I started taking various antidepressants in 1985. The only one that worked for me was dolsulpin . I am still on it 30years later but have found my body feels light all the time every hour of every day. Any one felt like this?

the light feeling is in the whole of my body, i feel like i am walking on air its a really weird feeling, i have got use to it and it doesnt affect my day to day living, i also get a lot of buzzing feeling in my head and limbs when i came off anti depressants for six months my bodily feelings came back a bit but my anxiety and depreession got worse to a point where i felt suicidal. so went back on them. i only take 50mgs a day which is a low dose
Hi never heard of that before. I wish my body felt light instead of heavy and hard work though. x
The AD medications can affect memory over an extended period. Like you I have been on and off them now since my teens and also pain management since the mid 80s.
I do not understand lightness although I can understand lightheadedness due to contraindications. Talk to your GP regards these feelings. It could be you need a change of medication. On thing you need to consider is if you are taking medications for something else, that may affect the AD etc
Talk to your GP He can assess your condition, The Practice has your records and that will enable a understanding of your indications
Hi I have been on antidepressants too for years. I have never had that problem, I am light anyway but wouldn't everyone love to feel light like a fairy.
I would not worry about it, I think if you start overthinking it , you will start to float away like a bird in the sky maybe, that would be lovely.
I would consult your Pharmacist as they are great at these queries.
i have mentioned it to the psychiatrist several times but their answer is always we will up your medication. i am only on 50mgs which is a low dose i cut the medication myself as gps and psychiatrists answer to any mental health problem is to keep increasing it
