Hi, I'm 44 years old, married with 2 teenagers. I've been suffering from which started off as Post-natal depression for over 18 1/2 years and turned quickly into "Clinical Deep Depression".

Welcome! Did something happen in your life that could have led to this?

Hi mbvu, thanks for replying to me, I am extremely low, have done nothing but cry, am on quite a lot of medication but seem so depressed - everyday is basically like just existing, have been on medication for so many years now but of late, honestly just feel like giving up altogether, I feel so bad too because I do have a fab husband and fantastic teens yet I suffer so bad. I was amazed at coming across you all last night, so many things have happened in my life to be honest, yet so many others don't seem to understand. It will take me a while to work out this site but am hoping here is the place for making new friends who understand what you are going through.

Well I hope you'll find this place helpful. Things that have happened in your past could cause this. The funny thing is people with this condition might not realize the exact reason for such feelings. At least not right away. Good luck!

Hi honey

Have you had any other support other than meds, like CBT or counselling of any sort. If you have been on meds for years your surgery should really be doing something else and maybe your meds need reviewing !!

Sorry that you feel this despite a lovely family I too have this same problem. Started with post natal depression but I didn't see anyone coz I just felt aww this is nothing I can deal with this but guess I was wrong then the prescriptions for meds scared me and I didn't want to admit that I was feeling this way coz as everyone who meets me says they cannot believe as I am always smiling. I at one point just weighed 44 kgs a 30 something woman with a little child. So I decided to something new every year. Some charity work involvement in school, became a school governor oh I started small like colouring my hair red but didn't show coz I have black hair, tried knitting and sewing really really bad at it couldn't even knit a hair band. Then the last few years started collecting some autoimmune conditions and many bad things happened I used to sing and I lost my voice couldn't talk still not right But now I have a husky voice and my friend tell me to do those phone sex things😜. my new thing is doing Indian classical dance started out really not being able to move my hands and legs at the same time but now not that bad actually my teacher asked me to perform onstage I think she was just being nice and it am not doing it.

All this said and done today the whole morning I was in bed feeling low. What I mean to say is sorry for the long post but try something new like Sainsbury's say. And little by little your worries and problems you can post here and we can support you. All the best
