I've thought often about signing myself in.......but I'm worried about what would happen, and the stigma, effects of family, career, I sometimes just feel so desperate but im scared to admit this to anyone. What do I do.

Hello

Who will find out, unless it is you who tell them ?.

Today there should be no stigma, one in seven patients will at sometime suffer mental health problems many will get better after treatments that include talking and medications.

Now in this day and age I feel I am the only sane one around especially with my teapot on my head, HA HA, LOL

You generally will never be able to tell if you are introduced to sufferers of Depression

Good Luck, you will have a great deal of support on this site

Hi Bob,

Interesting comment about not being able to spot a depressed person. I also reckon I can a mile off!

Hi there, I'm not sure what age you are or where you live. Go to your GP first and don't

Be worrying about signing yourself in. No one will know your going to the Doctor

Unless you tell them

No-one really needs to know except you and your GP who you should go to for some help, support and advice.

I never told anyone at my work and they didn't know how I felt. Work kept me going so it was good. Julie xx

If you don't ask you don't get,and it sounds like you could do with some help..

And like everybody has said, nobody needs to know except you, your GP and only who-ever you'd want to know..

And you've got a good few people on here that are happy to help, in any way we can, coz we know what you're going through!

Good luck and sending you some love ,

Hey, I'm "out" as a person with mental health issues and if people don't like the idea my usual reply is "I prefer people with a diagnosis, at least they know they have a problem"

It is often a test of who is truly your friend and that can be a huge surprise...I lost a lot of so-called educated people who claimed friendship and some of my staunchest supports are very humble people
