Have any of you been prescribed diazepam before? I took my first 5mg dose this morning, and I am due to take another this evening. Apart from a mild headache occasionally and balance problems when initially taking the tablet, I've not really noticed any effects. What are your experiences of it?

Experiences of Diazepam?
hi lilly. looking at a dental site diazepam takes 20-30 minutes before it starts to have any effect, and 30 mins to two hours before it reaches a peak, so any side effects before half an hour may be anxiety about the med. Having it with a meal may slow things down if you don't want it to hit your system too quickly.

hope the evening dose will make the night easier to cope with and you can look forward to an easier couple of weeks .
Lovely drawing of the black rose, is it your own? I never really got beyond the finger painting stage....
Yes, it was a sketch I did a while ago, thanks (: Well, I'm not really feeling much from it. Just a fuzzy feeling in my head. But, I'm feeling a bit more suicidal tonight?
Hi lilly - do you want someone to talk to? I'm home alone tonight.
Hey there (: I could probably do with someone tbh. Feeling very stuck. And sore from a lot of self harm last night... ):
wait the thought out, guess the doc has asked you arrange a review of how the meds are working in a few days, and if you reckon things aren't getting better before the review is due you can always call him.
Hope the team supporting you is helping you gradually figure out some strategies that work for you, by the time you are a granny you will certainly have lots of sage advice to pass on to the grandchildren after your experiences. I wish i had a time machine see how things will turn out with my young nieces and how their children or grand children will develop, but unlike Dr who we just have our three score years and ten, and no tardis....
To be honest I don't really feel supported, more like a 'case' they want to close as soon as possible. Or like just part of the procedure they have to go through after someone is admitted into hospital. They're discharging me on Friday because I'm away for 8 days. Its worrying.
expect you have already made a plan for who you can call when things get rough in the christmas break. Know what? it is kind of good to hear that you are worrying, because a growing part of you actively wants things to work towards that life where you get a boyfriend, kids, and be someone who makes their contribution to the world, in your own individual way.....and would be really really pissed off if the illness got in your way
Hi Lilly, just wanted to say hello.
Hope that you manage to ride out the suicidal thoughts ... and that the diazepam helps with the anxiety. I've never taken it myself so can't help out with how it may or may not affect you, but just want you to know that there are people who care about you.
Thanks for your thoughts (:
Hi Lilly
I take citalopram and have diazepam for emergencies and when things get too much for me, they usually take about 30 mins to kick in but really help when I'm panicking and need to calm down. Hope you are having a peaceful night
