Why do I feel so fed up at the moment?

I have suffered with depression for a while and I have been keeping on top of things for the last few months, but the last few days I have felt really down. Life is so dull!

Hi Golfer sorry to hear your not feeling great. This happens me too sometimes

For no real reason. I try and ask myself Questions

Could I improve my diet.?

Am I getting exercise and enough sleep?

I try and do something nice for myself like have a nice meal.

Phone someone for chat.

Write a list of a few things I'm grateful for.

I think it's part of life to have theses phases, even people who don't

Suffer from Depression get them. Just try and ride it out. You have been

Doing well. I think it's best to accept this is the way you feel right now

And don't fight it.

Golfer everyone is different and these are some things that help me.

Thanks Hannah, I havent written on here for a while. Life was going quite well then suddenly I hit this wall the other day. Oh well here goes another day. Your comments helped.

Golfer I am happy to help as I have been in that state, it's like

One day you get up and bang that back dog is. Snapping at our heels.

Golfer keep in touch and we. Could get you through this blip.

Hi Golfer

I thought I hadn't seen you for a while. As Hannah says, I think it's ok to assume that there will be blips. Everyone has bad days or bad spells. I think the difference with being depressed is we let the blips engulf us.

When I'm feeling down I try and picture the brighter end of the tunnel. I know it's there somewhere, so I try and keep focused on finding it.

Thanks Lucy. Today has been a bit better. The weather is better and that helps loads. I try to keep looking for positive things but that gets difficult as this mood engulfs everything. Its good to know that other people understand. My wife just gets cross with me when I get down. She says I get so irritable, which I know I do but I cant help it, I just sit in my spare room alone listening to music or I go to the gym as I did last night, which helps my mood for a while anyway.

I know it will pass but I dont always feel like it will.
