I am 22 years old, in the middle of exams, with stress-related insomnia. Scared of not getting enough sleep.
I have zopiclone, but I don't want to take it unless I have an extreme insomnia episode (eg 48hr of no sleep).
I was offered Nytol by my GP, the classical once a night formula. I also have a large box of melatonin gummy bears which I got in Spain which typically cause such drowsiness in me that I fall asleep quickly (I have UK-prescribed circadin as well)
Does anyone know if it is safe to take Nytol and melatonin (2 gummies, each containing 1 mg) together?
For completeness of picture, I am healthy, eat well, and do vigorous exercise every day
First time I took zopiclone, I nearly panicked because I read about the addictions it can cause

Hi Marcus, Nytol makes you feel very drowsy in the morning and melatonin I've found doesn't work. Go on to ebay and put in Kirkland sleep aid. The ingredient is diphenhydramine succinate. It's by far the best non addictive sleeping tablet I've ever used. Non drowsy next morning also.
Hey! I have been there for years and tried everything, melatonin, nytol, promtheazine, you name it i've tried it! A mate told me to try a natural supplement which he had tried and it seemed to work. I was like, nah that herbal stuff is stupid it's all placebo, but at the same time i was thinking, i'm so desperate for sleep let's go for it anyway and prove myself correct. Boy, how wrong was I, the core ingredient valerian from an extract of valerian root extract is a miracle, it conked me out fully! I take one before bed and have a great night's sleep 90% of the time now and iI don't feel groggy either in morning. For me, personally, I found these dissolvable vitamin strips cause to be honest I don't enjoy swallowing tablets, I take enough anyways for various other health conditions. The ones I use are diso ones, i'll find the link to strip ones and add it here for everyone but yeah, an absolute miracle. Hope you all get it sorted I know how absolutely insanely frustrating it can be! mydiso.com/products/sleepy-... (these are the ones I go for, the strips dissolve into bloodstream so means you don't lost 90% of it through digestion! learn something new everyday!) good luck!
Try these, best ever imo. No drowsiness in the morning. Kirkland sleep aid. Buy on ebay only. Not available on Amazon. The ingredient is diphenhydramine succinate.
It's great that you're seeking advice and being cautious about your options. Combining medications, even over-the-counter ones like Nytol and melatonin, can sometimes have unexpected effects, so it's wise to double-check.
Nytol contains diphenhydramine, which is an antihistamine that can cause drowsiness. Melatonin, on the other hand, is a hormone that regulates sleep-wake cycles. While both are commonly used to aid sleep, combining them may increase the sedative effects.
However, it's essential to consult with a healthcare professional before combining any medications, especially if you're already taking prescribed ones like Circadin. They can provide personalized advice based on your medical history and current situation.
Always ensure that you're purchasing medications from reputable pharmacies or authorized retailers to guarantee their quality and safety. If you have any doubts or concerns about the legitimacy of a source, it's best to err on the side of caution and seek alternatives. In case if you have problems with searching, I use topsup24.com/ a trusted pharmacy and use successfully, at least I'm always confident in the quality and authenticity of the products, try them.
Additionally, maintaining healthy habits like regular exercise and a balanced diet can positively impact your sleep patterns. Don't hesitate to reach out to your GP or a sleep specialist for tailored guidance. Take care, and best of luck with your exams!
