Enlarged Postrate

I was having problems weeing. My flow was awful and took ages just to do a dribble and so often as well. I had to sit on loo, because with all the straining I often pooped aswell. Desperate to pee, and if I didn't get to the loo in time I couldn't hold it back. I saw my doctor and had cancer test which was all clear. I was put on a course of tablets to help with problems. I didn't like taking them and side effect looked awful. Helped a little but wasn't a good solution. I was waiting to see a eurologist on nhs. Imposible to get an apointment so I decided to go private to get this sorted out. I opted for Rezum which looked like a good option as it's relatively a cheaper solution. It's a good solution for postrates up to 80 ml. A normal postrate is 20 ml. Unfortunately I had grown a huge one. My prastrate was 120 ml. So the doctor said rezum was unsuitable in my case. The options I was given were horrible, with all sorts of posible complications, like leakage, unable to get an erection and unable to ejaculate. None of these I wanted to take a chance might happen, so I was in a quandry. I needed another solution as the problem was getting worse over the year I'd wasted so far. Eurica I found it, the ultimate solution, Water Ablation. It was a lot more expensive than the Rezum would have cost but the results looked excellent. I had it done at the London Clinic by Mr Neil Barber who was my consultant surgeon. The London Clinc was excellent as was my consultant. The operation was very quick and I didnt have any pain afterwards. The cafiter was romoved the following day and I was able to pee like it was when I was 20. I went home on the 3rd day! The worst part was all the blood mixed in with my pee. It was pretty worrying. My consultant, Mr Neil Barber, reasured me it was quite normal and all would heal up eventually. After a couple of weeks I finally had clear pee. I was informed that most men stop leaking blood much quicker. Anyway the results are fantastic. 2 months on and I can pee in seconds, I can hold my wee, I don't have any leakages or drips and I can still get a good erection and ejaculation. I am extreemly happy. Before having this done my life was miserable. Now no more tablets to take and I can do what ever I like without the fear of peeing myself. Brilliant

Amazing. Neil Barber did my urolift procedure. Kind man as well as an excellent urologist.

Glad to hear no side effects.

Great news Sooty. I totally relate to this my prostate was too big to have anything else but the turp which went fine, no side effects. But for any other guys out there I'd offer this advice

1. The bigger the prostate gets the more your surgery solutions diminish.

2. Find a hospital where there's a reasonably big urology team offering many treatments. Near me this is Bradford Royal Infirmary and get yourself referred there.

3. As far as I'm aware there are no drugs to stop the prostate growing, so it's going to grow, so...don't let the GP leave you on symptom-alleviating drugs until it's too late (example tamsulosin or flowmax) they help the feelings (good) but do not sort the problem (bad).

All the best
