New here. ADHD-c diagnosed Jun ‘21

Hello all, I am newly subscribed here. After a long battle with mental health that resulted in having to put my career on pause due to adverse mental health wracked with anxiety, depression and poor sleeping patterns (no circadian rhythm).

After pushing for a Right To Choose referral, I managed to get an assessment for ADHD in June and was diagnosed by a psychiatrist with combined type ADHD. Through titration I settled on a dose of 70mg Elvanse (lisdexamphetamine) that I have now been taking since June.

I am 39 years of age. It turned my life around significantly and I am now able to lead a more normal life. I was able to initiate and handle raising issues with my marriage and jointly deciding to separate with joint care for our 3 kids, aged 11, 7 and soon to be 2 in early January.

I am now back in the workplace firstly as a part-time barista for a well known coffee chain at weekends. I am also applying for roles back into my previous career for longer term financial stability.

I am tapering off of antidepressants. I was on a high dose of 225mg Venlafaxine. I am now on 112.5mg this month, and hope to be totally tapered off by April.
