Potential STI?

Hi guys,

In the last few days I’ve developed really bad itching and redness in my perineum(taint)area and I’m concerned it could be an STI. I got an all clear STI test result two months ago and have only had protected sex since then so I don’t think it is one? I’ll go to the doctor anyway regardless but just curious to see if anyone could shed a light on it?

Hi Randomme.

Can't really say, but if it's an irritation that's causing the itching and redness, I guess the obvious causes might be something like have you changed your shower gel or soap recently? Maybe a different washing liquid for your clothes? Sometimes if the weather suddenly heats up (and recently it's been going from chilly to quite hot, and then back down again very quickly here in London) then I find that can initiate some quite intense itching.

Your plan to visit the GP is certainly the best way forward. Hope you can get an appointment quickly and get the issue resolved asap.

Personally, I'd take a break from sex too, until you know what's going on 'down there'.
