Testicular pain

I’ve got an intermittent short pain in my right testicle / heavy feeling. I obviously know it’s a symptom of cancer and I’ve booked in with my GP. It kinda feels like it’s on top/ to the back of my right testicle and mainly feels detached, but attached in parts, I think I’ve made it more discomforting since examining. I’ve been looking at diagrams and I see that the epididymis lays across the top of the scrotum so I’m wondering if it may be this. Has anyone experienced this?

I know epididymis is usually painless but then so is testicular cancer usually, I’ve had epididymis cysts in the past on the tube at the back of the testes and I did have similar symptoms then, so thinking maybe it’s that? I’ll see what the GP says

Yes I know it’s safe to get it checked. Have you experienced this?

I did. They had a feel and said it isn’t cancer, said that it has. Very distinctive feel to it

They weren’t sure. Just said it feels a bit inflamed so perhaps trauma or a cyst forming or something. But she said she can confidently rule out cancer which reassured me. Also ruled out a torsion and also STI. It isn’t so bad now, just an occasional dull ache but not really a sharp pain anymore. Have you experienced this?

I have had right testicular pain twice in 4 years. I saw a specialist who could findno reason. I now have hip pain so I am assuming the testicular pain came from there.

I had a similar sounding pain a few years back. Turned out it was a strain due to my job. Light lifting but twisting and bending in the mix led to this.Always best to have it checked.

Good luck

I've had a dull ache in my right testicle for 5 days. No lumps/bumps, swelling, etc. and it doesn't hurt to urinate/ejaculate, so I don't think mine is anything too serious. I know in cases like this, docs usually don't find anything so I'm waiting a bit before I head off to get examined.

How long did it take your pain to go away?

Also, glad to hear your ultrasound came back normal!

Tenaval I have the same symptoms you have. But I’ve been like this for about 5 years. Scans and other tests all normal. I’ve just got to live with it. Tight underwear - especially dual pouch briefs help. But yes, you need to get checked.

To be honest only a few weeks. As soon as the scan was clear , the pain almost vanished. It’s strange how the mind and body work. I think a lot of my symptoms were due to health anxiety causing actual symptoms too

Have had bouts of testicular pain bad enough to worry about testicle torsion/twisting. Resolution 2nd time 1: stopped using jock spray which caused bad pain in one testicle until I stopped and restarted & proved it was from the spray. Resolution 2: switched to looser fitting, cooler shorts and changed positions at first sensation of pain.
