How long after contracting chlamydia are you contagious?

How long does it take from having sex with someone who had chlamydia for you to pass it on? For example, if you had sex with someone with chlamydia and then a week later you had sex with someone else, what is the likelihood of the person having it? Is there an incubation period, or will you pass it on straight away?

The incubation period for chlamydia is quite variable and may range from days to months after the initial exposure. The average time from exposure to the development of symptoms is usually about one to three weeks after sexual contact with an infected person.
