I had Rosacea a couple of years ago in my 60's and got rid of it after taking mild antibiotics as prescribed by my doctor. It's now returned and I don't want to take antibiotics for 6 months again as I think they are bad for your digestive tract. Any ideas on how to get rid of red cheeks and spots would be welcome. I eat healthily and am fit, healthy, not overweight and do a lot of walking and cycling. I cannot seem to narrow down what the trigger is to make it come back.

Rosacea
Here is the NHS information on your problem. I hope it helps. nhs.uk/conditions/rosacea/
Thanks. I had actually already looked at that page but it basically says that Doctors don't know why Rosacea occurs or how to cure it apart from Antibiotics. I am trying to cut out some suggested triggers, but as the effects may take weeks to show if it's working it's difficult to find out what my particular trigger is, especially if it's not one of the NHS suggestions. Hence I wondered if anyone out there had come up with any other suggestions to get rid of it. As it's obviously a common occurrence I'm surprised that there hasn't been more research into a cure.
Sadly there are lots of illnesses for which there is no guaranteed cure and lots of illnesses for which there is little research. Have you seen this the-dermatologist.com/conte...
You might want to consider getting an appointment with a dermatologist.
Thanks, very interesting.
