Antidepressant Medication Withdrawal

Hi,

I’ve recently stopped taking Venlafaxine (2 days ago) which I was taking for depression.

I was taking 300mg a day and over the last 6 weeks I’ve reduced them and this week I decided after getting down to 75mg a day to stop taking them.

I have been feeling sick, light headed, dizzy and having very strange dreams. Has anyone experienced these symptoms from withdrawal and if so any tips on getting through the withdrawal phase? I don’t feel depressed but the physical withdrawals are awful at the moment especially the nausea and feeling dizzy.

Best wishes

David

I was on a similar large dose around 15 years ago. It took me a year to get off the drug. The side effects were horrendous. I went down by 50mg per month then 25 then 12.5 then alternate days but had to revert to the higher dose on a couple of occasions. It was not an easy process. Good luck.
