I've recently started during to lose weight. I have just started couch to 5k as well. I am losing weight but my body fat percentage keeps on rising. Does anybody know why this is happening?

What does your diet look like?
you are losing water weight so overall weight is going down fat is unchanged so percent wise it appears to be increasing.
A few things come to mind. Like Thai said you’re probably losing water weight, nothing wrong with that. The important thing to lose fat is not to eat much fat. You already have it, so keeping your meats as leaner as possible would be key. Keep in mind that timing plays a big role in maintaining or keeping off the weight. When it comes down to eating try to keep it simple and eat almost anything you want in moderation. For me I stay under 30-40g of carbs for meals and 15g of carbs per snacks. I don’t usually count calories because I know what I eat helps me with losing and keeping the weight off. I stay away from anything white that starchy, potatoes, rice, bread, sugar. DRINK WATER! 4 bottles of water = 8 cups! Ofc you can drink more. Anything that you feel that will become a barrier for you, you can eliminate. I was at 390 lbs at one point and today I’m at 293 lbs and last couple months I lost 45 lbs. I had the circumcision and I thought I was going to gain some weight because I had to eat with one of my pills that the doctor gave me. Every 4 hour so that was scary for me. But I maintained the weight without any gains so I’m very, very happy with this lifestyle choice. Also I incorporate fasting to my daily life had to stop for a week due to the surgery, I’m glad I’m back on track. (No need for cheat day because I eat very good with carbs, protein and healthy fats so there’s no need for me to lose focus or track. Well it also helps that I don’t eat/drink junk foods and my go to drink is water)
