Random rash

I developed this rash about a week ago after a day of intense physical work. I wear nail bags attached to a harness. The rash is directly where my harness meets on my back. At first the rash wasn't noticeable. My wife noticed it. It's been a week now and its spread a little bit and now its itchy. It doesnt bother me at all during the day until I get home and take my clothes off. Just want some opinions before deciding to go to the dermatologist.

If it a recent event, I would start with simple things, like have you changed clothes washing products or deodorant. Even the material of your shirt can react with other products. Then I would move on to wearing a light padding around your belt if possible. Meanwhile to ease the discomfort a light smear of sudocrem or similar should help.

I havent changed anything recently about my soap, deodorant, or buy any new clothes. My belt and harness have padding but it doesnt always help because I sometimes have to carry upwards toward 80+ lbs in my nail bags creating pressure on my skin. I dont know what sudocream is but I'll check it out. thank you very much!

You need to determine if this is new, which is where the change of product comes in or is it something that has been building up. Another thing you could try is wearing the belt somewhere else, so if you normally wear it round your waist, which I guess is standard, try hanging it over your shoulder and across your chest.

Sucocrem is most commonly used for diaper/nappy rash but is good for easing lots of skin irritations.

Nowhards suggestion of coconut oil is also worth trying.

I'm pretty sure its new because I've been doing this for over a year now. I'm just gonna go to the doctors and see how that goes. Thank you

Unfortunately my nail bags are part of my uniform at work. I will definitely try the coconut oil though. Thank you very much for your response.

Yes I'm sure I mean nail bags. I'm a carpenter. I carry all of my tools and nails with me when I'm working. And am required to all day long. I would just change jobs but it's an amazing paying job plus the benefits are insane. I'm just gonna go to the doctors this week. Thank you
