Anal Warts - my experience

I see a few posts here about them and I want to share my story so it may help some of you out there.

I first noticed I was very itchy in the anus area all day at work. I noticed some very tiny (pin prick size) warts had grown all around my anus. I know it’s gross but I could easily pick them off with my fingernails but they kept coming back.

Now where I caught this from I have no idea as the first time I went to the doctors I was told the ONLY way I could have caught it is from direct contact in that area from a sexual partner. Now I do remember a girl once going near there but definitely no man had been there (which she was implying). I have had male oral sex but nothing anal.

The warts grew larger over time and close up looked like cauliflower clusters. Some really were quite big, they were all around the anus and spread out from there as well. Constantly itchy and a living hell really. Again gross I know but in a hot shower I could get my fingernails to cut through them and pick them off Sometimes I was picking huge chunks out and there was bleeding. But they kept coming back, they were disgusting

I had no choice to go back to the doctors where firstly I was told they weren’t warts (perhaps I had a good pick!) but it was due to excessive sweat down there! He advised I waxed my crack and gave me some sort of cream Obviously a waste of time. By this time I had probably had the warts for 18 months. I went back again to another doctor and was told they were anal warts from the HPV virus He prescribed by me some wart cream (sorry I can’t remember the name - it reduced the size of the warts but that was all) I went back and got a repeat prescription but was told they had stopped making that cream! They gave me another called Aldaraa? Which did nothing.

So there I am with these huge Warts which I am stopping turning into monsters by picking them off which by the way was really hurting by now and no doctor can prescribe anything to get rid of them

I had no had them for nearly 3 years! When I decided to take matters into my own hand and bought some ‘Wartner’ pens. These are for normal warts for hands etc I would bend over on all fours in front of the mirror and run this Wartner gel over my warts and oh my god the pain for the next 10 seconds will always live with me! The warts instantly turned white I’d stand back up and the pain was an incredible burning which would last about 5 minutes I used to go sit on the toilet during this 5 minutes

After 2 days I was in the shower and I couldn’t believe it as I scratched a wart it crumbled and just came off! Gradually over the course of the next 6 months I would keep applying this Wartner pen and it would slowly come away Some warts kept growing back but there was no doubt this Wartner was killing the warts far more than any prescription. The pain got worse and worse as warts which had come away left a red raw mark and when the gel hit that area it was indescribable pain!!

Slowly they all peeled off and most importantly stopped growing. Even when I was clear I kept putting the gel on

All in all I had the Anal Warts for 4 years! It was a living hell and caused depression. But I have now been totally clear for around 5 years now. No itching and no warts.

Hope this has been of help, I wouldn’t recommend doing what I did, the pain was not nice but I did get rid of them myself after so much ineptitude from the doctors. They are a horrible thing which hopefully they have better treatment for than when I had them.

If you’ve got them keep fighting and one day you will be able to stop scratching!
