16, Foreskin attached to head

Im 16 and i am worried that my foreskin is still attached to my penis. It is connected by a bit of flesh towards the back of the penis head. I don't know if this is normal or not, as I have read the the foreskin should have separated. I am able to pull back the foreskin over the head when flaccid, but not able to fully pull it back when erect. Thank you for the help.

At 16, I would suggest more time. Gentle stretching in bath or shower may help. Later on consider cortisone creams.

The bit of flesh you describe is known as the 'banjo string' and should separate from the foreskin in your teens.

Meanwhile everything should work as normal.

Consider circumcision as a last resort. Once it gone, it gone.

The frenulum joins the foreskin to the glans and this normally never goes . It helps to encourage the foreskin to return to cover the glans and protect it from the primitive outside world of dust and injury when naked - (in modern times, rubbing on clothing). If it is too short and gets damaged during intercourse or masturbation, a minor surgery called frenuplasty can be done, thus avoiding the need for circumcision which should be a last resort treatment.

It is perfectly normal and It is not uncommon for your foreskin to still be attached to the gland at 16. It may well require more time to detach. When you go for a pee just pinch the end of your foreskin and allow it to fill the cavity. This will help the process. Never force it though.
