Hello friends, I got my circumcision done on 29th July. 1st dressing was removed by the doctor on 30th as it got wet by urine. 2nd was removed after 2 days. I have been asked to apply fusigen ointment and coconut oil and not to clean it. I have been told by the doctor that it might start bleeding if you try to clean it. How long will it take to heal..its so uncomfortable. No formals no office etc. And I get early morning erections.. can it bleed because of that????
Thank you.

Yes erections might result in stretching of the stitches and thus making it bleed. Try not to take any liquid after 6pm as it will help u empty the bladder and eventually stopping the erection. Also empty the bladder before u sleep. Dont think abt sex. Cmon, your foreskin is being cut off and you start thinking about sex that very day. Not pleasing to hear. Good luck. I also had my circumcision 4 days ago. Frenulum and urethral opening are swollen. Looks like a little monster in there.
No! Since it is an open wound, your body knows about the injury and has already biochemically responded to the injury. All the nutritious resources in your body are attempting you supply that wound with all it needs to repair, heal, and remain uninfected. Bath water and shower water are not sterile, as they would cause or further any infection of that wound. Please keep any water away from it for the next 7 days. Everytime an erection rips open the wound, keep water away from it. IF YOU SEE BLOOD, don't apply water!
Now if you can keep your erections to the bar-minimum as possible (although its tough to..) then your penis can relax and peacefully heal to the point when you can shower, in a matter of days, usually less than 10. However, when you do finally shower, don't use a towel or any cleaning tool on your penis for the following 2 weeks. Just let the warm water run over it, and loath it with some antibacterial/mild soap suds.👍
Your healing time until you can take a shower will be less than 10 days, but you wisely make that call when you notice an upwardly improvement. Your total minimum healing will be approximately 7 weeks, and may need an additional 5 weeks on top of that.
Erections, washing up with a towel, walking around in underwear and pants, constant bothering with your penis, not resting, not eating fresh vegetables, good protein sources, and drinking plenty of water are all factors that would make your FIRST 2 weeks of healing a living torture
Thanks a lot for this detailed reply. I am using a gauge pad to.cover my penis head and then i am wearing underwear as I have resumed office from today ( after around 1 week rest).
Also got a circumcision a few days before you. However my dressing came off at the hospital straight away before I could even leave. Majority of the shell is not as sensitive as it used to be and other parts are still recovering so dont worry it does get better. My doctor gave me pain relief pills like paracetamols and ibuprofen which definitely helps. I think quite a few people experience bleeding including myself. Some stiches have come apart but new skin starts to join them together again. It can be painful and cause panic. One thing I would say it may be to try and change your diet. I've tried to increase my intake of protein/fruit and veg. Minimising processed food as much as I can. Google what you should be eating post surgery, many more tips to be found! Good luck
From reading around, I've been told to keep the wound as dry as possible. I've been washing mine twice as day max 3 times - more with water just running indirectly down it. Also been using tissue to get rid of any excessive yellow discharge/blood by dabbing it with tissue. Given that the idea is to keep it as dry as possible but not touching it much at all, I've been blow drying it after my showers which sounds a bit weird but I feel as if it's really worked for me. The amount of yellow I'm seeing has deterioted day by day. I can see that you've started to use a guage pad. Not sure what your situation is like but in my opinion this is likely create more sweat/moisture around the wound. Very unfortunate you couldn't get any more time off! Good luck with the recovery.
What I have realised about doctors or any health professionals is that they can’t agree with each other, I was to clean as normal with salt water but no soap at all, I’m now two months on and didn’t bleed or have any infection at all, didn’t even take meds or use any ointment, my advise is if cleaning is a problem or something lying heavy on your mind seek a second opinion
I just had mine last Thursday. So far so good on my end. I was able to shower today for the first time and let the water with antibacterial soap gently run down. I used a very soft sponge to clean -no rubbing, just gently press against it. It did feel good to finally shower after a few days. I pat it down to and let it air dry, afterward I applied some bacitracin. There is still a couple of layers of bandage on by the stitches, the doctor told me those will eventually fall off and not to pull them off.
