10 days post circumcision op

Had my op on the 12th of May and recovery was going fine, bleeding stopped about 3 days post op and was just waiting for time to go by.

That was until Thursday around 5pm where I bent over to wipe the floor and stupid mistake, I felt something tear or something and then I proceeded to bleed. I thought it would get better so I just rested but it was still bleeding every time I stood up, walked, tossed and turned in bed.

Around Friday night/ Saturday morning I decided to go to A&E to check what was going on as I thought I had torn some stitches but turns out upon vigorous examination by the doctor, no stitches were torn, but bleeding was being caused by an infection. The blood might I add was both a blood with yellowish tinge and just pure red blood. Doctor gave it a serious clean and then gave me antibiotics and sent me on my way, with the advice that if the bleeding had not stopped, I go see a Urologist yesterday.

Here we are 4 days into the course of antibiotics, I have not gone to see the urologist but the bleed/ yellow tinge has progressively slowed down (no more pure red blood btw), now it would only bleed if I turned in bed but no longer when I stood up and walked.. so progress I guess?

Now here's the reason why I'm posting, for me I'd expect it to have completely stopped by now but it just has not, has anyone been through this before? I have to friends who are Doctors and they have both advised me to sit tight and give more time for the antibiotics to do their job.

Not entirely sure what to do, just worried that if it does not completely stop by Thursday/ Friday then I'd have to go see the Urologist.

I had/have an infection at the moment too. 3 weeks after the op tomorrow. Was given antibiotics last Wednesday which I finished on Sunday.

It's not completely gone but looks a lot better. It wasn't bleeding though just puss.

Not sure if it helps I made a cleaning regiment. Shower twice a day, morning and after work, pad it down to clean, wipe over and try to clean up any discharge with a wound cleaning wipe, then put some antiseptic cream on it.

Might sound a bit long but touch wood it seems to be working. I'm not sure if I need further antibiotics, it's almost completely gone but the area still needs to fully heal. To be honest if you have a urologist appointment, I'm assuming it's free NHS appointment, there's no harm in getting them to have a look at it

Thanks for the reply Fuzzeh, I reckon I'll give the urologist a visit, if it has not cleared up by the end of the week. The problem is, I reckon if I see the urologist, they'll just tell me the same thing the A&E doctor said. We'll see though, I'll for sure progress things if needed.

Update: Went to see the Urologist team yesterday, the ooze didn't stop and so I just decided to progress things, the team had a look and everything seems to be going fine however, they're not entirely sure where the ooze is coming from or why it's happening. They did mention that the area had a lot more moisture than ideal and for me to try keep it dry as I can, which I thought I had been doing but not well enough?

To sum up however, healing and stitches are still fine and everything else is fine and if the ooze continues after a month, I should go back.

That gives me relief, thank you. I think maybe this is just all part of the process of recovery.

When you had 1st bent over and felt something tear, what was it exactly that tore? Was it your seam/incision line tearing apart from each other in a certain place? The fluid that you see oozing out is definately a mixture of blood and lympoema. Which occurs when soft tissue and skin has sent a signal to the nearest lymph nodes that there is a damage.

Where the fluid is oozing out at, is there a swelling puffy spot under your skin as well? If so that swelling is the pooling of the blood and lymph fluid that's needed to doctor on that tear that you had felt. Once finished, the fluids leave the penis and siffer back in the body's circulation.

Can u take a current pic of how your healing has come along now?
