Circumcision bleed at day 7

Daz81 profile image
47 Replies

Had circumcision 7 days ago.

Had few little bleeds over first couple days but nothing since until today.

Went for a bit of a walk which pulled a little then got an unplanned erection which I'm assuming triggered the bleed.

The bleed was underneath by the frenulum.

A little sore now but hoping no damage done.

Trying to keep it nice and clean. No nasty discharges or smells so far. Fingers crossed!

Is it common to have bleeds 7 days after the op?

Also wondering if things improve and settle down more once the stitches have disolved?

Any support appreciated.

Have you still got your frenulum or was it removed I know mine bled quite a bit if I went walking about.

Still got it. I think it was the hard on that caused the bleed as much as the walk.

It's strange how slightest things give you a rock on when you've not "released" for 8 days.

Daren't even touch the Mrs in case it ends in a blood bath.

Just hoping this tightness eases once the stitches have disolved.

Tell me about it, I couldn’t touch, kiss or hold mine and anything sexual on tv got skipped it’s a real pain literally but you’ll find it calms down and you just get over the fact your not getting any for a few weeks. Your circ is still quite fresh once the swelling goes down it won’t be so tight anymore.

How's yours looking now? I think you've had it done longer than me.

I'm not usually one to compare but it sometimes puts your mind at rest.

Ryanr, do you think erection and/or shower can rupture the disolvable stitches? I got fresh blood around the wound today (day 8) pisses me off because I thought all ok until a couple of days ago. Just called 111 and the said check with the hospital tomorrow. I dont want to be stiched again, can’t cope with the bleeding 😔

Let us know how you get on as it looks like we both had them done at the same time.

Ryanr profile image
Ryanr in reply to mpd052

No just don’t soak the stitches it’s fine to shower. The stitches only dissolve once your wound has healed my took 4/5 weeks to start to dissolve.

Many thanks. Felt a bit down because of this new bleeding it’s so bunched up due to swelling and some extra skin left etc, can’t really see what is happening exactly. Is the stitching dissolving/broken etc... Thank for your advise.

Yeah you get like that I felt depressed at one point I was really down about it but was reassured by people that had been through it and I was ok again.

The excess skin won’t be there once everything settles mine was a tight cut but still had extra skin as my penis shrivelled up probably as it was traumatised 😂

Thank god for this forum. I'd never dream of talking about this normally but it's OK when you don't know each other.

You wouldn’t believe how many other men I’ve spoken to about it, it’s more common than you think even at Work there is 2 of us and the boss circumcised 😂

My wife nagged me for years to get it done as it used to be really painful during and after sex but I wouldn't go to docs.

Once i'd been to both male and female docs I realised I was a twat for not going sooner. Just hope it's worth while in the end.

Ryanr profile image
Ryanr in reply to Daz81

It is worth it in the end it’s not as sensitive during sexual intercourse but it’s still good and far better than worrying about hurting yourself during intercourse 👍

Daz81 profile image
Daz81 in reply to Ryanr

I'd never been able to retract foreskin anyway so wasn't that sensitive and could go for ages. It might even feel better than before.

Ryanr profile image
Ryanr in reply to Daz81

I wasn’t either and could go a long time and still can now

Carry123 profile image
Carry123 in reply to Ryanr

Have you found that sex is not as good? I’ve heard some people say it gets more sensitive.

I haven’t even been able to jerk off yet and am really looking forward to trying it out.

When did you have yours done?

How's it been?

Carry123 profile image
Carry123 in reply to Daz81

I had it done 11 days ago now. It is getting much better. Still uncomfortable to sleep and wear pants, but in my opinion the short term discomfort and inconvenience is worth it.

After the first week there was a noticeable inporevement and I’m hoping to be close to normal by week 2. Still showering twice a day and applying neosporin regularly which seems to be helping healing.

Ryanr in reply to Carry123

No it’s less sensitive it’s still good just not as intense whoever’s told you it’s more sensitive lied to you.

jimfromcalif profile image

Ryan, many who suffered with phimosis prior to circumcision actually report an initial increase in sensitivity. Eventually that changes as the thickening of the mucosa occurs. I suspect too that the position of the cut line is a factor. Mucosa is generally more sensitive than skin. Were you left a generous amount of yoor inner foreskin?

Ryanr profile image
Ryanr in reply to jimfromcalif

All I know is my foreskin lost it’s elasticity and shrunk my gland was hidden for nearly a year and nope I have little skin I had a low and tight cut.

Ryanr profile image
Ryanr in reply to Ryanr

Glans*

Daz81 profile image
Daz81 in reply to Ryanr

Does the skin you have left now cover your glands at all?

I still have some skin left.

Just hoping it stretches a bit as at the minute it doesn't look like it would accommodate a full on hard on.

I'll be glad when everything is healed as I'm gagging to give it a tug.

Ryanr profile image
Ryanr in reply to Daz81

No I have no skin covering my glans.

jimfromcalif profile image

A low cut removes most of the inner foreskin.

Carry123 profile image
Carry123 in reply to Ryanr

I agree. For those who did not have any issues before circumcision, it def decreases sensitivity. But you take the good with the bad. Sex and blowjobs are less intense but when I jerk off with lube to jerk off it def feels great. (And unfortunately that’s a much more frequent event these days)

Tismefolks profile image

Agreed. Its a hell of an op for a bloke. I got strengtg from knowing my experience was normal.

Daz81 profile image
Daz81 in reply to Tismefolks

I also find it helps massively discussing it with others who have also gone through it also.

I have a small piece of open raw looking wound near the frenulum but there's no discharge or anything so hoping it sorts itself out.

My penile skin covers the stitches and i'm really struggling to pull it back to expose stitches to clean.

When I'm walking or sat the stitches are really prickly and uncomfortable around the bell end.

Having a buried penis makes things even worse.

Just wish I was normal!

Daz81 profile image
Daz81 in reply to mpd052

I'm sure it will be fine when healed up properly.

Where is the extra skin?

It's really tough. Makes you feel like putting your cock in the freezer every time you feel a hard on starting.

mpd052 profile image
mpd052 in reply to Daz81

Below the glans, will probably settle down after the swelling dicalmed down

Daz81 profile image
Daz81 in reply to mpd052

I'm sure it will. Early days for us yet!

Try applying pressure at the point of bleeding until it coagulates. Keep it dry. A bandaid might help if you must be physically mibile.

It’s been 8 weeks on the 21st, everything is good, no problems and works fine I can’t even feel it in my boxers anymore and I had a sharp throbbing pain but that’s gone now

Daz81 profile image
Daz81 in reply to Ryanr

That's good then.

Did you take any photos of progress?

I've taken a couple just to compare how things are going.

Ryanr profile image
Ryanr in reply to Daz81

I took some at the start but other than that no

Carry123 profile image
Carry123 in reply to Daz81

I took pics everyday after the bandage came off. I was thinking about starting a chain with photos of the initial healing process because I was really concerned about what I was seeing and thought that maybe it wasn’t healing right. It would have helped me to see what others looked like to compare.

Is that something that would be helpful for guys going through this?

Daz81 profile image
Daz81 in reply to Carry123

Please share. It helps to have something to compare with.

Carry123 profile image
Carry123 in reply to Daz81

I will. But since I don’t know if everything is going to turn out alright I figured I’ll wait before posting. Because right now I still don’t know if it’s gonna heal right in the end so it won’t be very helpful at this point.

Here's mine. Photos taken today after I had stitches out.

I know your probably not interested in looking at photos of a fat blokes small penis but in the name of education they're in the link below.

Tell me what you think...truthfully!

From what I can tell it seems to be healing without infection and little swelling. But I’m not an expert and not sure what it should look like at this point. I still have some stitches and swelling.

Daz81 profile image
Daz81 in reply to Carry123

There's plenty of different posts with photos on here. All are different and heal differently. As long as it's kept clean and there's no signs of infection it will be fine.

How long did it take for your stitches to start coming out? And how long did it take for you to see it was improving. I’m on day 6 and although i can pull back a little now i feel like it’s still extra swollen towards the bottom.

Daz81 profile image
Daz81

At day 14 stitches were showing no signs of dissolving and we're very uncomfortable. I went to nurse at my GP practice and she removed them there and then. She said after 2 weeks they had done their job. Things improved so much quicker after stitches had gone. I could Ullman back fully from around day 7. Bruising and swelling had gone by around day 14. Masturbated gently from day 10 and back to full sex from 4 weeks.

I'm now 6 weeks and really pleased with it. Can't leave it alone!

Feel free to message me if I can help you further.

Thanks man everything looks relatively normal i guess but we want it done quick lol. I thought the swelling on the bottom side looked weird but reading here apparently it’s normal. I actually want to go back to work already

Daz81 profile image

I had 10 days off work purely because I'm a bus driver and didn't want to be bouncing about for 10 hours a day with a cock that was already black and blue. It was uncomfortable going back on day 10 as stitches felt like cheese wire round my bellend! Such a relief when I had them out on day 14.

allstar1979 profile image

I think once the stitches are gone the swelling and everything will get better. The bottom half seems like bloated.

Try using an antibacterial penis health creme like Man1 Man Oil instead. It cleans and eliminates bacteria on contact and contains Vitamin E and shea butter for soothing effects. I use it and it is way better than soap. Check it out
