Persistent Balanitis!

Help please!

I am a male of 67 yrs, uncircumcised, and seem to have a MILD form of Balanitis that just won't go away.

It affects only a part of the (interior) foreskin, where a persistant patch of the skin just won't respond to treatment.

I've tried various antifungal creams, but with no curative reaction whatsoever!

BUT, if I don't apply an antifungal cream, the area does bleed a little, but only sometimes!

Whilst appearing to be sore, it does NOT itch, nor weep, nor be painful in any way! (There is NO penal discharge!)

It just looks unsightly!

In fact I dont feel anything, and only remember it when cleansing!

What can I do to cure it?

Get checked for diabetes as sometimes this causes chronic balanitis

I agree it’s the reason I had it constant for 15 years

Hi, I had been dealing with "balanitis" for 6 weeks now. At least it started out as balanitis, (we think) it eventually morphed into something else. I started out with one week on antibiotics (Dr. should have gave me a culture THAT day to determine if it was yeast, fungal, bacterial or a STD) He didn't do so. I knew for a fact it was not STD related. After the first week with no results he put me on Clotrimazole 1% cream for 2 weeks, still no results. And it was burning, badly around the head of my penis, so I went back, and my Dr. was off for that week I requested a culture to find the source, it came back clean, yet I was still burning. So the NP gave me fluconazole 200 mg for 7 days, still nothing, just more burning and sheer disappointment. This time after the Fluconazole I want to Urgent Care and finally saw a Dr. that seemed to know what he was doing. He prescribed Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream 0.1% it's a steroid cream and he told me to use it for 1 week. All the drugs spent trying to combat what they have no idea was going on only made my penis badly enflamed. it's only been 3 days and I am finally feeling better. He also referred me to a Dermatologist which I do plan on going to no matter what.
