Stitches falling out after how long
Hello Napsy, I was circumcised 9 weeks ago and can give you this advice. Some peoples stitches will start to dissolve between 14-21 days, some will take longer. Mine personally took 21 days for the stitches on the side to start dissolving, and 30 days before they dissolved completely. I had 3 stitches on the top that still weren't dissolved by the 5 week mark. I had sex 1 day after 5 weeks and 2 of the stitches came out, one inside of my partner and one in the shower while I was cleaning. I then went to my GP about the 1 stitch that was left and her exact words were "have more sex and sit in a bath for a while", 4 days later that final stitch was hanging off so I pulled it off, it was basically already out!
Everyone is different, but you're only 14 days in, give it time! The whole recovery process is a long one. As I said I'm 9 weeks in and still not fully healed, In terms off pain/discomfort I'm completely fine, but the scar tissue and cut line is still healing!
Alright,,, thanks for your help
Hi i found your post helpful i am day 14 as well .sometimes i think oh i am o k no pain
then i go for a walk seem to over do it and feel like i set my self back . taking third week off work as i do manual lifting and shifting stuff . the boredom does kick in . i am not used to not being at work or active , i suppose its just patience and a step at a time
I do a very manual job, I took 3 weeks off originally, but my GP advised I have another week off, so I ended up being off for 4. The first 2/3 days at work were a bit uncomfortable, but the sensitivity quickly reduced to "normal" levels.
I also did a lot of walking and felt like I overdid it a few times, but I don't feel like I've pushed my recovery back at all because of it.
Go back to work when you feel ready, and take it easy for the first week or so!
