Can’t see stitches after Circumcision

Hi guys, I had a Circumcision three days ago, the head is super sensitive and little sore, also have lump sticking out on the glans on the front, but I can’t see the stitches at all, they seem to be buried inside the skin - remaining foreskin, also the the head is not fully exposed but like 30% . I’m a little freaked out Over the whole thing and any comments or help most appreciated- 41 years old... thanks guys..,

Update... now on day 7 post op, been taking NSAID but surgeon only allowed weeks medication- will swelling go down on its own now? It’s still quite sore and the chaffing hurts occasionally? Any recommendations for this?

I had no choice unfortunately- phimosis - had it for years - so it was either cut Tom dooly or get it closed up involuntary

Chris3108
Chris3108 in reply to NkC555

I had no choice either I had phimosis too and what little lump ??

NkC555
NkC555 in reply to Chris3108

It’s like a mini clitoris under the frenulum ( where they cut it and stitched it back)

Chris3108

That’s what I’ve got too I think ?

When one has a non-retractile foreskin (phimosis), there are several options from which one may choose.

1. One may do nothing and remain as one is. Phimosis is a condition, not a disease so men can live their entire life without retracting the foreskin. Men with phimosis can have sex and father children.

2. One may use manual stretching (with or without application of topical steroid ointment) to trigger mitosis (cell-splitting) which results in tissue expansion and widening of the foreskin to make it retractable. All functions of the foreskin are retained.

3. One may find a surgeon to do preputioplasty (plastic surgery on the foreskin) to make it wider so it will retract. There are several different procedures available. Preputioplasty offers the advantage of retaining the foreskin and its multiple useful protective, immunological, sensory, and sexual functions.

4. One may elect to have a circumcision, which removes more than 50 percent of penile skin.

Yeah that's correct! Don't worry about retracting your skin. The swelling is too much pressure to allow you to anyways. Don't worry about cleaning it. It's a recent wound in which your body will perform the cleaning itself using lymph fluid, white blood cells, and proteins carried to it by your red blood. Only clean what u can see, and leave the swelling area alone. When it settles down and flatten out, then it will be sealed enough for you to wash with water and mild soap on the outside. Swelling doesn't go down until the body's immune technology sends the signal to the lymph system.

Hey! I am 2 days post op and I have the same problem. Did you force back the skin in order to see the stitches? (I can’t see mine either)

Chris3108
Chris3108 in reply to mnt1997

No don’t force back the skin whatever you do I was tempted and went to docs and they said leave it to heal DONT force it back coz you will just open the wound and that’s the last thing you want

mnt1997
mnt1997 in reply to Chris3108

Thank you for answering me! I’ll make sure not to do that anytime soon hahaha.

But how will I know if I’m healing correctly? Like I can’t even see the stitches, how will I know if I’m healing correctly then (?).

Thank you so much!

Chris3108
Chris3108 in reply to mnt1997

That’s okay, they will just dissolve I couldn’t see mine apart from the legs of the stitches which I could only see millimetres of, just don’t pull the skin just leave it for about another 7-10 days and then let me know how it is

mnt1997
mnt1997 in reply to Chris3108

I will do just that, thank you Chris! I’m really freaking out because I don’t think not being able to see your stitches is something that common.

I’ll most def keep you updated!

Daz81 penis was operated on and looked just like yours. He had the same concerns. Check his photos out, and then check his final result & healed pics out. It looks gteat and he's satisfied. So just message him as he has the perfect strategy for your exact situation

Wonder what the little lump thing sticking out the front is?

Bucky85

I wonder if the lump is swelling caused by the oedema.

Sounds a lot like mine and Daz81 if you click his name he posted pictures during his recovery which helped me a lot. I'm at day 11 at the moment and could pull it back fully to reveal all the stitches at around day 9 once the swelling had gone down a fair bit, hope this helps.

Cheers Dave, that’s reassuring to know, it just feels awful now and I’m getting the feeling of “will my junk ever be the same again” 😳

Do you have WhatsApp or anything ??

NkC555
NkC555 in reply to Chris3108

Yes.. send me a pm I’ll bounce it over to you...

The stitches must be under the residual foreskin.

Your surgeon did you a favor by leaving as much residual skin as possible, because that means that less damage was done to your penis.

The residual skin will help you to avoid painful erections and pulled out stitches.

I don't know what to make of that "lump" on the glans. Perhaps you could post a picture.

I will do when I figure out how to!!

Bucky85 to mine

I'm day 7 post op. Surgeon told me I had a large amount of inflammation seconds after surgery. Girth was 3 times the size. Can't see stitches at all, other than the bottom of the wound/penis. Still looks like a hotdog in pastry with no stitches. 2 stitches have popped at the bottom. Black and purple colours have gone now, thought it would never end. (After 5 days) Still awaiting to see the majority of all stitches. Just want it to heal. Don't care about looks anymore. Photos always helps. Not enough courage myself yet to share. 34 yrs.

Mine looks like that too... also getting slight sting when urinating - plus don’t even need to hold it when peeing goes straight out like a hose pipe though the glans also swollen to three times its normal size!

Were stitches used? Surgical adhesives are now being used.

NkC555
NkC555 in reply to jimfromcalif

I had stitches- dissolving ones in week or two apparently?

So now 6 weeks after surgery all good except this hard circle feeling under skin at head when erect? Is this normal?

KBo3 in reply to NkC555

So I'm at the 7 weeks mark - take a look at my posts - I still have some swelling underneath too.
