Hi guys i will be 2 weeks post op, i just wondering what signs should i look out for that it is healing ok. I can see the stiches and i think there is some dry blood in places. Also i am heading back to work next tuesday and i just curious on what youd recommend wearing. I have a very physical job so lots of lifting and sitting down etc. I recently have grown to wear one jockstrap as its very comfortable but i cannot wear that for the rest of my recovery. Do you think i should go to the doctors to be on the safe side.

At two weeks post op, the two best signs that suggest your healing is going on well are :

1. No pus (or infection) at the site

2. The wound not leaking any blood or fluid.

If there is a light, yellow, painless discharge, it is lymph and is not a reason to worry. For people who heal faster, the discharge of any kind of fluid stops by 2 weeks... Some dried blood clots is perfectly fine!

Since you have a heavy physical activity, I would recommend you to visit your surgeon and get a good advice from him as he would be the best to assess your situation vis-a-vis your strenuous work profile.
