Hi. I had a torsion surgery five days ago and I cannot wait to go back to the gym. I am a powerlifter and I know I should not do such strenous work yet. My question is how long do I wait before going back to the gym? also can I do pushups and situps now or are those also too strenous?

You really should be asking your surgeon these questions. In fact, he should given you post surgery instructions. That is protocol in the US.
