i only had stitches but had the same discharge around the same time, i seen my gp and was told it was normal and as long as the stiches and wound edges look ok and to just keep it clean and wash the area regularly, unfortunately going into week 3 the yellow build up got worse and it turned out i had an infection.
just keep an eye on it and see your doctor if it gets worse, tbf i was bandaging it up for work and that could be the cause of infection, i now use Vaseline and saline solution and it seems to be getting better all be it slowly.
I take a gause and apply lots of Vaseline and then wrap it up, since reading your post about that possibly being the cause of your infection maybe I must stop wrapping it.....
Did you just apply Vaseline to the head only and then wear underwear like normal and how much Vaseline were you applying in this case as that just scared me as I am wrapping it in gause everyday!!
i was wrapping mine everyday too, but reading others posts you may be alright, i never applied Vaseline just used sterile pads and wrapping gause around that, but now i'm on antibiotics the docs just told me to clean it with sterilised water and basically leave it alone i got given some gause, but that was only to stop any fluids from leaking into my underwear so if do wrap it up i leave it very loose to allow air between and change it mid day. i have a check up on wednesday, ill update when i've been ill ask if vaseline is alright.
hope this helps and you are doing well, again any concerns i would just see the docs like i did.
The discharge has stopped now, But after the surgery when the dr came to see me, he said there was a little bit of BXO and that the skin was stuck to my head.
This area has seemed to have left what looks like a water bubble / blister but it's not a blister,
well I don't think because it's not small and roun like a blister would.
I am a little concerned about our so plan to call the dr tomorrow.
