circumcision scabbing

hi, I had my circumcision 9 days ago (2nd October) - and yes I’m definitely counting…

In general everything is going fairly smoothly, just the usual swelling and pain so far. And of course the night time / early morning erection pain (which they don’t warn you so much about!)

I’m at the stage now where my body is trying to form a scab over the area to shield the incision line and do its magical healing work. However, I’m finding that it scabs throughout the day, but after my morning shower when the scabs get wet they seem to keep falling off. I’m concerned that the repeated scabbing / falling off each day is going to lead to scarring.

Has anyone experienced similar / have any tips?

Heya. Welcome to the Circ Bros. Counting the days is natural. Are you using anything like Vaseline to protect the stitches or scabs? I tended to let water drip off me onto my willy in the shower and avoided getting it proper wet for a few weeks until the wound had closed properly. I found that sometimes a scab would fall off then come back from time to time, and eventually it just stopped scabbing after a few weeks. If you don't have any signs of infection or anything, it's probably fine, just be vigilant and air out when you can (just lie on the bed for an hour or so with no pants on). Feel free to message and ask questions if you like, or read my previous updates. I'm 7 months healed now and loving how it's all turned out, was a tricky start though. You got this.

thank you - definitely airing out has helped!

I’ve actually found using a hair dryer on a low setting over the area after a shower has really helped to dry the area before getting dressed!

The hairdryer is a proper lifehack for the recently circed man. I do the same even now just to dry my whole body.

Hi, requesting your experience. I m on 10th day of stapler circumcision, there is no pain on smell but there is always light yellow liquid is forming on the head and top of head , so many forum says its part of healing but for how long, it's not dried yet.. I am just worried that this wetness won't just become an infection... My situation for circumcision was phimosis and part of foreskin was adhesion to the glans.. During mu circumcision, first the foreskin adhesion was released on my head and followed by circumcision, so lot of handling on my head during the surgery, so just wondering that's why taking more time to heal.

Hey there, I can only share my experiences and would always encourage you to see a doctor if you're worried about anything.

I had the same as you, phimosis and adhesions to my glands. Released in the order you described. I put a thick layer of Vaseline on my scar line and glands for a week or so. Even with that on there, I also got the clear yellow liquid. It was only there a couple of weeks before it dried on my scar line and then fell off by week 3.

Remember, it's early days still and your willy has been through a traumatic operation. Remember that pus is often thick and yellow. See how you go and if you're worried, please do go and see a doctor.

That is because of the stapler ring Anil. It will go away once the ring falls off. Took me 18 days to fall off.

Thanks, the surgeon did mention upto 3 weeks for stapler to fall off or if not i will have to go to get it removed. There is no pain, but the nocturnal erections make it uncomfortable but its better than week 1. I am still in week 2, hopefully this discharge will settle soon and move to scabbing stage..

Yes, nocturnal erections were painful till the ring fell off. Took a mild painkiller (paracetamol) once a day if the pain was too bad.I had also visited the doctor for a checkup at the end of week 2 just to ease my mind that it was healing fine.

Thanks for a quick reply. Actually there is no pain from day 3 and i have not taken painkillers since. Only 1st week i was on antibiotics. The swelling is very minimal only close to staple ring, only this lymph discharge everytime. So, this discharge will continue till staples come off till end of week 3? I am trying to keep my head covered with vaseline and gauze and taking shower once a day. I guess once this discharge is finished and start getting dried, i will be less worried and continue to heal as normal.

Yes it will go away once the ring comes off. The nocturnal erection discomfort will also go then. Should happen anytime during week 3.
