7 days since circumcision - questions

Hello, I’m new to this site and found it after doing some worried googling after my surgery and reading through some of the posts on here has helped me calm right down.

My first question is about the wound. I have what I think is a clot? on the underside and my GP told me this is normal and that it’ll fall off by itself. I’m wondering is bleeding from the underside (because the top side hasn’t bled once) normal still after a week? It doesn’t bleed much,I only notice if I go to the toilet and take a look I’ll notice some blood on the underside and then gently dab it off with some tissue. The clot is on the underside and the bleeding seems to be coming from around it. I also noticed tonight there’s a string piece of what I can only assume is skin about a cm long that’s just hanging off the stitch line and I’m also worried about that, if anyone knows anything about that some advice would be appreciated.

Next I’m wondering if I’m not treating myself right post op. Seen a lot of people on here say that they only stopped covering with bandages after 2/3 weeks but I haven’t had a bandage on since I took the original one off as I was advised by my GP (though I know sometimes their advice can be a bit off). I was wearing boxers again after I took the original bandage off which was on the third day I think and just sort of adjust them if I start rubbing on the stitch line of the boxers. Should I be bandaging/covering it if I want to start leaving the house more soon?

Also wondering if it’s normal I don’t get erections at the minute? I can’t fathom what the pain may feel like (even tho I’ve been in no pain apart from the sensitivity up until this point) if I were to get one. I haven’t even had one in the night or morning yet. I seriously think the most beautiful woman could stand naked infront of me and I’d still not get erect. Is this normal lol?

Finally, I shower once a day at the minute which I was also advised to do but that’s it. Should I be soaking my member in water throughout the day at some points or is a shower a day enough to keep the doctor away?

I’m 11 days post circ’. I had the blister on the underside as well but this just went after 8 days. Everything you’re doing is what i’m doing. i went back to work after 8 days which was a mistake. i’m now off work as i think i have an infection. The underside is rather swollen under the stiches. i have one shower a day but use a cotton makeup type cleansing pad soaked in warm soapy water to clean it around 3 times a day. i then put some Fusidin antibiotic cream all around the wound. This was suggested by online doctor after i got the infection. I suppose time will tell but it seems everyone is saying 6 weeks ish to get back to some normality. Good luck pal😀

One question if you don’t mind, how could you tell that it was infected? Is there anything I should keep an eye out for?

The underside where the frenulum is was swollen but then it seemed to get worse post 8 days and more painful so i rang 111 and talked through with a Dr who then prescribed antibiotics tablet and cream.

Soak in salt water daily (don't rub it dry or rinse salt off) to promote healing and prevent infection. Put a dressing on and wear tight pants if walking about as reducing movement between your penis and clothes will help with discomfort.

For now I think it's a good thing you don't have erections, I had morning boners and it was not pleasant the first 2-3 weeks. Regarding the bleeding on the underside, I had it too, it was a nasty wound that is not yet healed and this is my 5th week after the surgery.
