18 days post circumcism

Hi guysI had my circumcism surgery 18 days ago. I think the healing proccess is very slow. The suture has not fall of yet. But there is no pain and sign of infection. I apply antibiotic cream every day.

I concern how it will look like after it completly cures. Till now there is swelling between the head and the incision line. Is it normal and will it be gone. And I notice some hard bumps between the stitch. Will be dissappear?

Does anyone experience similar problem like me?

I’m 12 days post op and my pain has gone but still have sutures and swelling the same so it looks like I have excess skin. I hope this settles

Now stop applying the cream and let it dry, keep it open only since it's been only 19 days for you. After 1 month of the surgery you will be able to wear clothes too.

Hi mate, still too soon to judge the result. My last stitch did not fall out till about one month after procesure. I know it's hard but you have to be patient. I use scar cream every day and still have hard spots after 6 weeks. Also still too early for me to judge. Best to give it at least 6 months.

Hi. It does take a while for the swelling to go and lumps around scar to go. It will be bumpy until all the stitches have dissolved and the skin settles. I was like that but now my scar line is very flat and neat.

My surgeon always said it would take six weeks to settle down, which seemed too much given I never had any pain, but she was right - lots of things didn’t look as I thought they should until around then…so I would say it’s too soon to judge your result.

I still have some imperfections where the stitches were in the frenulum and the surgeon prescribed betnovate cream to help solve that, as well as recommending bio oil once I’ve finished with that.

I’m sure you’ll heal fine. Good luck!

Thank you so much! May I know what kind of bio oil to use? And how long after the sugery should I use it?

I think any bio oil that’s described as being for treating scarring is suitable but ask a health professional if you’re not sure. I’m planning to use it for as long as it takes the scars to settle completely (assuming that happens). Only use it once you’re sure the wound is calm and not vulnerable to opening/bleeding though.
