seeing all the posts regarding Circumcision and after effects, healing issues etc, I don’t know why members are not reading previous posts on the same subjects to avoid the same questions being asked over and over, clearly men are suffering and need answers, but many of the same questions are posted hundreds of times.

Do anyone even have a discussion with the Doctor or Surgeon before anything goes forward and the operation is done regarding any after effects, healing process, any concerns etc, this should be priority for both Doctors, Surgeons and men with issues.

Speak to your professional ! Ask everything you can, get the answers first

I don’t understand why anyone gets circumcised where it isn’t for religious reasons. Especially those that do this in adulthood. Is it an American thing? Or is it a young fashion thing for younger generations in our western countries? I’m perplexed. I’d never have it done unless some kind emergency occured in that area and a bit is snipping was the only way.

Are you confused? One minute you are saying you understand why anyone gets circumcised where it isn’t for religious reasons then in the next breath you are saying unless some kind of emergency occurred in that area.

Firstly it is that individuals choice (I am in the UK). Secondly you would have to have an emergency in that area to have a part of your skin cut off, how bad does this emergency have to be, nearly at deaths door?

Not confused in the slightest.

If there is a major problem in the area and it’s decided that circumcising is the “only” option then that would be naturally understandable. What I don’t get is people electing to have circumcision in adulthood. Nature gave us a foreskin. Mind you, nature gave us an appendix. Not her fault we don’t use anymore 😆

I also think should only be performed for health reasons as a last resort, personal opinion

Circumcision is a great tradition and has numerous benefits. It is more hygienic, prevents future problems such as phimosis, helps make the male last longer before ejaculation by the glans penis becoming slightly desensitised. The glans penis can increase in size. Many prefer the appearance. So many advantages. I am so pleased that my parents had me circumcised and there was never any doubt that we’d have our boys circumcised.

The only question remains is, why did nature gave us foreskin? Is it ever wise to tamper with nature? If so, it can be unforgiving. There seems to be risks involved judging by the amount of worried post on this forum.

Circumcision for religious reasons should only be performed on consenting adults who have decided for themselves which religion to follow and made their own informed choice about circumcision.

I suppose one of the main reasons why the same question is nearly always ask is because on the whole forums like this are largely anonymous, people probably feel more comfortable asking on a forum like this rather then go to someone they actually know, even if it is a doctor, some men do not feel comfortable with their situation especially when it involves the penis.

The other main reason I guess is that they see many men suffering from similar issues, I mean you ain’t going down the pub to discuss with your mates about your foreskin problem now are you? They think they are not the only one and can get help without revealing who they are.

Men are geared up differently to women, whereas woman openly discuss their issues with other women. Men are actually very reserved and never talk about it, even when at deaths door.

What it goes to show is, is how many men actually suffer in that region, most will suffer pain for almost a lifetime before they get it looked at or even spoken about.

Hi mate,

Agree, and I have no issues with anyone asking any questions that is what a forum is for, and benefits many, but it’s the same questions over and over, guys are not reading posts with answers already given, then asking same questions

while I’ve heavily relied on you over my journey here I’d urge a bit more patience with new comers with issues that are new to them. The design of a web forum and how it works for every user is different and can be daunting. It still is very much for me and I’m celebrating just over a year. Many have been here for years and either are or have become so tech savvy that maneuvering from page to page is a breeze. On the other hand I’ve noticed new users come on board at least weekly and likely cannot figure their way any better than I am able too even still. Please let’s continue to be respectful and patient with one another and remember every issue and ailment is not ours to weigh in on but when we can offer help, just continue too. As a recipient of the mind wealth from so many of you, especially you I found safety here and information that none of my medical ever meted out.

It’s not my intent to quake but remind and refresh our common goals less anyone forget I cherish you all.

Yes, totally agree that many questions reappear over and again. Indeed, some by the same people in a different form. But this is a forum, largely run by volunteers so to have some sort of search function would be great, yet highly unlikely. Again totally agree that surgery should be a last resort. I am cut and happy with what I now have. But there is no way I would put myself through it without good reason. I was not offered a choice of cut, and before this forum did not know there was an option.

Afraid we just have to carry on and help where we can. Giving true life responses and not personal opinions when it comes to medical matters.
