sex after being circumcised

hi, I am 5 weeks post op and told by my doctor it is fine to have sex after 4 weeks. I am abit worried as I can barely feel anything on my penis head, is this because it’s still soon after the op or is this just the way it’s going to feel now? Almost no sensation there at all around my head? Anyone further downs the line which may have had this problem and then things got better? Any info would be appreciated, thanks

I had similar experience - it is a bit weird at first. It takes a while for the whole thing to settle down generally post-op but having previously been so super-sensitive in that area, it feeling almost numb is strange. In my case the sensitivity didn’t return, but I see that now as a good thing. Sex is a bit different at first and took me some getting used to, because the sensations during intercourse are different without a foreskin. Wish I had had the op years ago though - delighted with the outcome with better hygiene and appearance and in my own case more enjoyable intercourse. Good luck!

I would wait a bit longer just to make sure! I think I had sex about 12 weeks post. However, it took 6 months post circ to actually cum during sex! It certainly is different. Previously I was cumming within 10 mins with a foreskin. Now it's hours! The wife is loving it.. 😆

Different strokes for different folks. I healed almost completely at 3.5 weeks. Doctor gave me the ok for sex. Oddly enough I’ve had the opposite reaction than others, my sensitivity is heightened. Previously I had no issues with sex and lasting. Now I’m struggling to last 10 mins. I’m 3.5 months post op so I’m hoping for a bit less sensitivity down the road. Lol.

In you case, if you’re not ready, don’t. Take your time and heal.

The glans (head) has only protopathic sensitivity (heat, cold and pressure). The fine touch sensitivity is in the foreskin.

This comment may come in ridiculously handy. I’ll let you know.

Explanation: I’m pretty sure a good 90% of the battle im about to face (due to have surgery in 2 days) is the “strange” sensation I get when exposing the glans as much as I’m currently able to.

To know that this “strange” sensation has a name and a firm reason it feels different to essentially anything that isn’t covered with skin is actually a massive relief. It’s insane to think that at 34 I’m only now about to make that a part of my reality, something I’ve been avoiding for my whole life because it’s weird
