What can I do to help the wound heal faster?

Hello, I got a Shang ring circumcision almost 3 weeks ago and things from day one we’re going poorly(medications made me vomit and nauseous for the first 4 days). Swelling was more than average and the cut reopened. I was given a medicated powder to help the cut dry out faster but with every gauze change, the scab would be doughy and it would come right off and it hurt like a mf. I have since stopped using the powder and using Vaseline non stick gauze pads. Doctor said that it wouldn’t be necessary for stiches but it will take longer to heal. Should I be letting it dry out or keep putting Vaseline? Let me know if anyone has any pointers ! Thanks

Your wound looks better than mine, mine was infected with lots of slough especially near the frenulum site. It is gonna be exactly 1 month after i had circumcision using Shang Ring. Now it almost fully covered with new normal skin but still having swelling, hopefully it will resolve.

U can try medihoney cream, apply onto the wound and cover it with gauze. Do it every night before u sleep. It is gonna take 1 - 2 weeks for that raw area to be replaced with normal skin.

Another alternative is to cover it with duoderm patch, it acts like scab to your wound while the wound repair itself underneath it.

Sorry to hear we’re on the same boat but glad to know recovery is on the way.

I’ve heard good things about the honey which I ordered online today but I’ll be using Vaseline in the mean time.

I use a non-adhesive pad as well. And I cover that with gauze for more cushion.

When did you get back to more strenuous physical activity?

Thanks!

Ring was removed at day 9, and i resume gym activity at day 14, and just limited to upper body exercises.

I’m at week 3 today but I don’t feel ready enough to do much strenuous activity

It really looks fine to me. It took 5 weeks after the ring was removed for my scar to look OK. You just need to be patient. It’s difficult as it’s your penis and it’s a very important part of your body. I just kept applying Conotrane to keep the area clean and just relax. The wound will heal and the old skin will fall off. The scar will then become visible and then use bio oil the smooth the scar out.

Mine looks exactly like that right now,did your stay pulled back like that or did it keep rolling over,to how it looked folded in. And what did you do and how does it look now

What I did was pull the skin above the wound downwards to try and keep the wound as close as possible to help with scarring. I put medihoney on it to aid healing. Keep it bandaged with gauze to avoid rolling of the skin. After about 4-5 days of that it closed up for me. Now I just use Mederma scar gel but bio oil or coconut oil works well. The scar will be a redish color for a few days but in time it’ll get darker and less annoying . Patience is key my friend. Hope that helped !

Mild warm salt water dab with cotton ball 3 times a day and keep dry.
