I was told the same.

I think it's to minimize the risk of bleeding.

you know, gravity.

Keeping penis upright it helps the fluid (swelling) flow back to your body. You know, gravity. ;) The circumcision damages the lymphatic system on penis. It takes time to recovery.

is there anything wrong in placing it down?

No, it could be your normal state anyway. You said it hurts to keep it upright. Do you use any (non-adhesive) gauze/dressing on it?

i place gauze below my frenulum.

because it hurts if i leave it bare on my testicles and sometimes it gets stuck

Exactly. It is very useful to use (non-adhesive) gauze on open wound area. Otherwise clot or discharge may rip off a new thin skin layer every time when it stucks in.

due to the swelling, if i try to place my penis upright/againts my lower stomach.

it stands straight up.

PS i have a high cut, so my swelling is below the head

There is no must to keep penis upright. Very severe swelling may feel like pain sometimes and then it helps. You can always try to wrap you penis to roller bandage and get some pressure on that way. The wound will heal, but it takes time.

idk why but the back hurts way more than the front

in reply toratm

Have you thought about speaking to your doc about this?

it's normal. frenulum area is very delicate compared to other parts.

Not what you're looking for?
