Hi guys one side left still has little raised bumps, i hope not keloids? .. Im 4 weeks today. I hope stitches are out pretty sure cant see any, but appearance looks as if they are in if that makes sense. Will those bumps go down?. Is it to early to start using scar creams?. Thanks.

Yes. Most bumps will smooth themselves out over time. I have used coconut oil on the scar line over the last 21 months. Now, you can only faintly see the scar line. The tell-tail sign of where the scar line is that there is a shade difference in the skin on either side.

Thanks I noticed that shade.. I’ll start lightly as it’s just turned 4 weeks. They can be itchy painful off and on. Patience 😇

Yes agree with above answer. Coconut oil is good. I also used Bio oil twice a day, but it does have a perfume smell. At night I massaged in E45 cream on the advice of my surgeon.

Got Bio oil also..does it take you long for scaring to reduce?. those raised bumps between stitches. :D

It's nearly two years ago so I forget, but think it was a couple of months before things smoothed out. As to your question below about adhesions, keep an eye out that it doesn't start happening. Adhesions were part of the reason I had the circumcision and despite being careful, or so I thought, a piece of skin attached during the healing process and I'm not really inclined to get cut again when it might just do the same again.

yes I’m being pretty vigilant re that watching .. I use Vaseline now and again also . I think once I’m past 2 month period should be healed regarding that sealed ( scar tissue) id imagine. Certainly a learning curve all this , never heard of all this till read on here.

in reply to

Yes I was using Vaseline too but mine were bad before the op and my surgeon had to cut them during the circumcision. He did warn me that they might reattach which is why I'm not going for it again. Did you have this problem before your cut?

in reply to

I don’t blame you , no I thought this may happen after also wasn’t sure .not much after care advice and first I heard about these . Mine was done for balanitis phimosis

in reply to

You'll probably be okay if you didn't have adhesions beforehand. I was done for the same reason as you, but because I left it so long before seeing the doc, the adhesions had taken hold.

I am 3 months post-op and still have a big lump (but only one). But I can tell the skin of the lump is swollen so I'll wait until it gets normal. If it doesn't go away, my doctor said to call him but to wait another 2 months. It takes forever.

yes it’s not a quick thing is it final result . Are adhesions anything to watch

It probably varies with the person. I never had adhesions and got the cut because of recurrent irritations.
