Sore/Sensitive Circumcision Scar

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has experience with their circumcision scar being very sore and sensitive even 9 months after the procedure?

It's really been a hindrance when I'm going on my day to day and the discomfort and sometimes pain resurfaces when it rubs against my underwear.

Also when I'm trying to masturbate, the pain/sensitivity from the scarline is very much amp up and makes the process very unenjoyable even with lube.

I've talked to my urologist about it and he wasn't much of a help saying that it pretty much is what it is at this point after the 9 months and there's not anything more to do about it.

If anybody can offer some help in this matter, I would be very appreciative.

I am sorry to hear that you have been left with pain and sensitivity. That must be so difficult to live with. Usually by your stage the problem tends to be continued swelling. I hope that if anyone has experienced your problem they will jump in and let us know.

It is disheartening indeed when your doctor has dismissed your pain. I suggest meeting a dermatologist ot wound care specialist who can hlep you better. They may able to assess the scar and see what's to be done. I also do have a small part of my scar which on pressure is a little sore but it has been gradually decreasing with time. My doctor told me that in some cases the pain may be due to improper healing which will resolve over a longer duration . If the pain is too much when you wear underwear , better to cover only that area with a roll of gauze . This may be a temporary fix. All the very best !

Hi Velcro, yes, the pain has been getting gradually better outside of any sexual activities. I just haven't noticed that much difference when it comes to the moments when I do try to pleasure myself or engage in sexual activities. But I have started wearing one of those silicone scar sheets, hopefully that improves things cause the scar is still very much not smooth at least on the left side and hard in texture.

Oh that's good and just make sure that that the scar does not harden up any more and apply moisturiser if you have to . Always use non chemical based moisturiser . All the best !

I found the scar was sore after masturbation for about a year but not painfully so. From experience I’d say you Still have a few months to go before things have really settled down. No need to be too concerned yet.

Hi Glosspaint, thanks for the reassurance. I'll try to give it some more time and continue to use the scar sheets as well as other products if need be. I also wonder if it's because of the type of circumcision I had. They seem to have left alot of inner foreskin and it's very loose when flaccid though not when I'm erect cause I'm a grower.

Hi I know this was a year ago, but I’m going through exactly the same thing and it’s been over a year for me. Really sore and uncomfortable still even on day to day basis the scar line. Did you get this resolved and how if you did? It’s driving me mad

I've been using germoline for this when it happens as it has lidocaine in it. I find that the senzitivity happens after sexual activity or just randomly. I think the nerves in the inner foreskin area just has a bit of a mad time firing off sensations. My glans is often affected by the scar tenderness.
