12 Days Post Circumcision-Am I progressing normally?

Greetings all-thanks for being a part of this community. It’s been pretty reassuring reading some of your stories to know I’m not alone in going through this journey.

I got my circumcision on 8/12 after a lifetime of phimosis which lead to poor hygiene and avoidance of sex due to pain. So after failing to improve with stretching and creams, my doctor recommended the circumcision.

My recovery has felt pretty brutal honestly. I don’t know if guys have kind of sugar coated things to remain optimistic or if I just have a lower pain tolerance than I realized but I had a lot of pain pretty much through day 10. Between the stitches poking me during the day, night erections waking me and totally disrupting any chance of sleep, and then the swelling which made it super difficult to walk…I had been miserable. I know my reasons for getting the procedure, but I was falling into what felt like a depression really questioning my decision and feeling as if I would be in pain for forever.

Thank God things are slowly improving, and the pain is very reduced, kind of more like an uncomfortable nuisance rather than pain. I initially planned to take 1 week off from work as advised by my doctor, but I elected to take one additional week to give myself more time to heal.

I’m just curious about a few things for you guys;

One thing that has been uncomfortable has been this swollen ring like thing just beneath the glans. It’s mainly only on one side but it’s really uncomfortable especially when the skin is going over it and retracting. Did you all experience that as well, or is this maybe abnormal? If you experienced it do you remember how long it took to go down?

And speaking of the skin, this may sound pretty stupid but I was literally shocked to see that it still looks like there is some foreskin. My doc didn’t really allow for much choice on my end about what kind of cut I would get. I just made sure he knew that I tend to grow a lot when erect and I was wanting to not feel a tight or stretched feeling when hard anymore. But given that there does seem to be foreskin left do you know what kind of cut that mean I got?

Since about day 4 I have been going commando. It feels better not to have any material rubbing on it. However when I do have to go out to walk the dog run or run an errand (with clothes on of course lol) it’s extremely uncomfortable. I have caught some awkward stares trying to modify my walk, and even almost felt trapped for a sec because I had walked too far and couldn’t bare the feeling of the swelling and friction anymore so had to take a break. Any tips on how to overcome how sensitive it feels to wear clothes? I’m worried I’ll still be walking oddly and feeling sensitive when it’s time to return to work Monday with a suit!

Also I have noticed suddenly like a thin but hard dry white film on my head. I have slightly tried to pick at it but am kinda worried I may damage something if I peel it off. I’ve put in a message to my doctor cuz I’m very scared of infection, but did anyone else experience this?
