Circumcision - So far so good

Got my Circ done yesterday 25/6 on the NHS under local anesthetic. I'm a 39 year old male that suffered with Phimosis for 4 years.

It just got to the point where I realised after trying EVERYTHING that it was not going to resolve it's self. Probably spent 2 years waiting for the op to happen. Don't get me wrong while I waited to be called yesterday I wanted to get up and walk out. It is nerve wracking to know if you are making the correct decision. There are alot of polarised views online but ultimately you need to make the decision on what is best for you and put your trust in the medical team.

Currently my penis looks like a rooster potatoe, it's very swelled but the pain is minimal. My bandage came off straight after surgery so just rewrapped it my self. Slept ok lastnight on my back with slight discomfort. Did have an erection about 4am which was scary. My pee stream is like a light saber. There has been some minor bleeding but nothing concerning. Just ran a luke warm bath and gave it a little clean.

Its early days but I am pleased with the results so far. This forum is really good and it feels like everybody's journey is different. There is also a podcast on Spotify called Circ blog which was helpful.

Thank you to everybody that contributes here. Your input has been invaluable.

Hey man - good to hear about your surgery. I actually had mine the same day as you. You mentioned that you have quite a bit of swelling - how much? I’m a bit concerned about the amount of swelling with mine… it actually looks 20x the size. Other than that no pain or bleeding whatsoever.

Hey, the swelling is considerable. Maybe 10x but there is also a lot of bruising aswell. I'm not concerned. Maybe a cool bath will bring it down a bit. The fact you have no pain or blood is a good sign.

How is the swelling?

Still pretty big. Went to the doc yesterday to get it checked. He said no issues but definitely more swollen than normal. Hopefully it starts to go down this weekend! What about you?

Hi there. Glad to hear you’re doing well. I had mine 16th June and so far so good. Swelling still there and bits of blood etc but nothing painful and all to be expected.

Like you I’ve found these forums a great source of info and experiences. The night erections are sore and I find it is still a bit uncomfortable in the mornings too.

I’ve been out and about and was back to work the next day and managed to play my first game of golf yesterday (10 days post op). The one thing I’d recommend is to buy some of the “pee guard” things from Amazon or boots. Gives extra protection and that coupled with Vaseline has been invaluable.

Best of luck with the rest of your recovery 👍🏼

Hey Allym1982, glad to here everything is going well. The doc gave me a 2 week sick note 😂 .....wouldn't feel comfortable going in today but will work from home. TBH I just want to go for a run but think it's going to be a while before that happens. The pads are defo on my list, lots of people are endorsing them here.

Don't worry bro.I got circumcised 39 days ago,due to phimosis..the first 2 weeks are little uncomfortable.take care of the wound carefully.wash it daily with warm water and use mupirocin ointment in the wound.your cock will be fine after two or three weeks.Don't try to masterbate atleast the first 3 -4 weeks.

Good to hear it is going ok for you. Still very early days. I was done 6 months ago and am also 39. I do not regret it at all. Little discomfort for a changed life. Should have gotten it done years ago.
