I saved up the money to go private and had mine done with Nuffield Health. The specialist I saw was also an NHS consultant and he told me that the NHS waiting list for phimosis circumcisions was around 9 months. Good luck, I hope you get sorted.
Hi, I went to see my consultant in January and I go 28th this month for mine doing , its NHS and was classed as routine so maybe depends on local area as to how long waiting list is
The NHS waiting list for circumcision has always been quite long since it is not regarded as urgent surgery, so tends to get pushed down the list over and over in favour of more urgent or critical surgery (such as cancer or even broken bones). Covid has, of course, confounded the issue and greatly increased waiting times. A wait of 9 months or more would not now be unusual for a 'routine' circumcision.
If you can afford it, your best bet is to get it done at one of the specialist circumcision clinics (NOT a private hospital) around the country, where the waiting list would be 1-3 weeks and the cost about £500. You can also choose the date to most suit you and the style of the result - which you cannot do in the NHS.
Why don't you take things into your own hands, and save yourself oodles of money and tons of the most sensitive nerves that you possess. STRETCH that foreskin and save yourself years of heartache, when you progressively lose all sensitivity. Ask any of the thousands of cut men who spend years of effort restoring their lost foreskins. Believe in yourself and your own ability to solve problems without mutilating your precious penis. It is being done and it has been done by hundreds and probably thousands of men and boys in the same situation. This is a matter of character ... so show your doctor that you have what it takes ... by proving him wrong. Then we'll all cheer!
