4 weeks after circumcision

I was advised my circumcision shouldnt affect my length but it has affected the erect length by making it shorter about 3 inches. Skin around my glans is swollen and very tight when errect. Plus I still have an area where theres blood when I wipe it with a baby wipe. Is there many instances where the penis doesnt go back to the length is was prior to the operation ? Really worried itll stay much shorter without more surgery.

You're only 4 weeks so it's early days and things should settle down in time. Quite a few guys sin here mention loss of length, me included. The size should come back but might take a bit of time. I'm nearly a year in and still haven't got my full length back but I'm an old guy where skin doesn't stretch so well any more. I would just say give it time as everything will still be tight at the moment

Thanks. I'm 35 so I should be ok then in time. Thing that's got me worried was that I was told this wouldn't happen and my length wouldn't be affected. Hardly any information online about it in adults which is really disappointing

I agree. Nobody mentioned that to me either. But a lot of people on here say they have had no change at all. I went from 7ins to 5. 5 which I wasn't happy about. Still only just over 6 now. For you 3 ins seems a lot but once the wound has healed, start massaging in Bio oil. It will help with scarring and also with getting elasticity back

This is almost exactly my situation - will be a year post-op next month and am the same, at 6 but should be 7. Was slow to use bio oil (coconut has been great) but that has made a huge difference I think, I definitely recommend using that as soon as you can.

No one told me about it either, I'm still happy I had it done but it would've been nice to have been more fully informed.

I am on day 20 after having the op to remedy phimosis and it is apparent the surgeon has given me a low and loose circumcision. Prior to the op, my preference was for a tighter circumcision but I’m now glad I followed the surgeon’s advice. Being loose when flaccid means there is plenty of skin to stretch when erect and consequently, I haven’t lost any of my length.

same here exactly, but my erection do seem shorter than pre-op ! nobody told me this stuff and those who did mention it, people just said "its rare"

I had the same fear but it'll be okay. My swelling was horrendous for about 5 weeks. The first few erections were really depressing as my penis basically looked like a stump. Give it time and once everything settles down it'll actually look bigger than before the op.

It was about 2 months before I felt healed and everything settled down.

Appreciate the comments as it's not something that is talked about a lot. Hopefully it will help others and/or put thier mind at ease a bit. They say it's rare but there is at least an initial shortening which I dont think many men are mentally prepared for.

Update : I've now used bio oil / vaseline for the past days and it's made a decent impact already. Vaseline as a barrier and bio oil after washing. Should go back to normal soon 🤞 no more freaking out from me. Cheers 👍

circumcized 30 months ago, i was 5.5 inch erect before now i m 4.5. surgeons dont tell you before because they dont want you to be scaried

Yes there's a lot of stuff they don't tell you I'm still missing an inch after a year. Also my ball sack hangs further forward and don't get me started on the nighttime erections.
