4 Weeks After Circumcision.

I am 29 years old and it’s been 4 week since my circumcision surgery. I still have stitches left and swelling is also too intense.

I have been dressing every night by applying betadine ointment so I can sleep properly...Can anyone help me, is this normal..? How much time it will take for stitches to dissolve and swelling to come down ? Pls help!

The stitches won’t be doing anything now. Go to your doctor and get them removed. Wrap ice in a plastic bag and hold onto your penis to help with your swelling.

The stitches will eventually dissolve naturally, but all the time they are there you will have swelling. Some folk take much longer than others to disolve their stitches.

You can remove the stitches yourself as they have long ago finished their job of holding the edges together for them to join. The method of removing your own stitches is described in the medically approved booklet of supplementary Post-Op Care advice at: circinfo.com/post-op_care/c...

I hope it dissolves soon....as it has started to dissolve and I think it’s complicated to remove stitches at home....I would share a pic but I don’t know how to share images through phone...

Did none of the stitches dissolve ? Are they creating discomfort ? I would suggest to set your mind as if they don’t exist Are you doing dressing by yourself?

Applying betadine ointment and then cover it up with cotton....it sticks a little but in a painless manner..

Mine started to come down real fast after I put Bepanthen on them 3 times a day. (I was going for a wet wound healing instead of the dry stuff)
