2 weeks after circumcision

Never really felt any pain. So after week 1 I started going on walks. And during week 2 I started doing light exercises like lunges, squats, and abdominal crunches. I was careful making sure I wasn’t injuring myself. Now, I’m on week 3 and am feeling some pain. It’s more on the inside of where the stitches are. When did you start exercising?

Pain is very common and expected till 4-6 weeks. Till all the stitches , even the ones buried under the skin dissolve and the swelling comes down expect pain but in decreasing intensity. Exercise wise I started off with light activities in the 5th week and upped it slowly . As you can see your swelling is still subsiding and pain will be there. Would suggest you to not aggravate the sites and do too stressful exercise . May be slowly increase the intensities after 4-5 weeks. All the best !

Thanks you for your wise advise. I am just dying to get out there and start moving. But, I need to remember that I'm barely on week 3 and quite healed yet.

Yeah , the general rule of thumb is to abstain from sexual activities for 6 Weeks and exercise for 4 , but again ppl heal differently so it's up to you ! But since you seem to be still having little pain , better to stick with just light cardio for now =)

How about abdominal exercises? I feel like I really need to do something.

Abdominal exercises tend to increase the blood flow to the penis but also increases tension so I wouldn't be doing those yet . I would maybe let the stitches heal/absorb then start off with those to prevent any part of incision site from rebleeding if it's still healing . Also I get your concern but time heals everything so actually doing vigorous exercises might actually delay the healing so giving it time to heal properly would be best in my opinion. Hope this helped !

I wish I had asked this question a week ago. Last week I did 20 minutes of abdominal work four days in a row. For the last three days my willy has been in pain, primarily the area where my stitches are. Darn it!! I hope I didn't create a lot of damage. Any suggestions as what to do?

I would suggest you call up your doc and let him decide which drug to use if necessary . My doc advised paracetamol if pain was not tolerable and it worked out for me . Also warm baths may soothe the pain a little . Other than that keep the site clean and put off any pressure on the site and allow it to heal. Hope this helps !

Hi Karchie,

Was it a freehand or a ZSR stapler circumcision you got?

Martin, I believe it was freehand. I will try and post a picture so that you can see.

i feel your frustration. I didn’t do any walking for the first few days, but from day 4 I ventured for walks. I’m now on day 12 and done a 45 min walk (not fast.) I’m hoping that’s ok.m and that the stitches aren’t being pulled on. I’m dying to do lunges, push ups, squats and running but gonna wait till the 4 week mark, I think.

Not what you're looking for?
