Several years post circumcision

I was circumcised a few years ago and wish I had done it earlier. Much of this forum concerns hypersensitivity and as such I think there are 2 groups. Those that want to be circumcised and those that have it done for medical reasons. The first group already have a desensitised glans as they have been able to retract their foreskin for years pre-op. Those that have a phimosis cannot. I remember that hypersensitivity from years ago and it’s not pleasant. It does disappear as callous builds up, unfortunately you just have to persevere. Surgical spirit can be effective but shouldn’t be used immediately after circumcision. I still get glans irritation after exercising but manage perfectly well and certainly wouldn’t go back! Those that say you lose all sensitivity are talking nonsense.

I understand your opinion but not everyone feels the same way in regards to this topic, if you are happy with circumcision that’s great, as long as you were informed of the risks and benefits, a lot of men did not have a choice when this was done to them including myself

Well, I am glad you are happy with the outcome, truly but there is a big difference between the men that want it done out of "fashion and how it looks" and those that have to because of medical reasons. And even then, many of the medical procedures done could have been fixed with skin expansion methods for the simple tight 4skin cases as they do in Europe and now more enlightened urologist are suggesting in the USA.

And yes the idea that you remove an adult 4skin and you go dead dick is pretty HYPE driven by the more radical inactivist but the medical facts are there that skin develops new layers to thicken the surface to protect any area that is feeling the surface being diminished, elbows, knees, palms, glan, etc. On the glan of cut Males as children, I being one, a glan that after 53 years of exposure was losing feeling and I was starting to developed ED- that was when I did my research and found a lot of restored guys were regaining sensitivity, not new nerves in the glan but the protective cells over years of covering were being shed and because of the new 4skin protection,..., not replaced and my glad is now very soft-moist and a lot more sensitive. A Male that is cut at 50yo would have to live 53 more years to know what I knew at 53yo. SO yah you don't all the sudden go numb, and sensation totally lost- but the certain loss of sensitivity?, it's a gradual happening that cut at birth Males are finding not to be a positive and restoration is really entering the mainstream in Urology now. My urologist freaked when one year I was high and tight cut and the next I was completely hooded. A 15-minute office visit turned in to a 40 min "How I Did it" office visit in 2011! I should have charged him! LOL!!!! HE was amazed to see 4skin restoration was not an urban legend that the medical world "wanted" us all to believe back in 2011.

But adults make their decisions and that's fine by me- just the gray areas are where I chime in on- my own findings is nothing is ever really black and white as to what and why we want- only the foundation's mechanism that make it possible of how to get it seem to be. Glad you reached your happy place for sure.

I appreciate your thoughts. This also reinforces my comments some months ago. If you want to be circumcised you are unlikely to be disappointed with the outcome (accepting a small risk of complication). It is quite clear that some men prefer it this way. My wife is also a protagonist having been with me in both “forms”.

You are quite correct in saying medical alternatives should be sought and I am very against circumcision at birth. It is a very personal decision that requires consent. My original post merely suggested that you are far more likely to be satisfied with the outcome if you want it done.
