Personal experience- ZSR Circumcision

Hi Everyone,

I can’t thank enough everyone on this portal. It must have been hard without this space. I got through this journey by reading and knowing everyones experiences. It is time for me to share my experience as am totally back to my normalcy after circumcision

Reason for circumcision: balanoposthitis - I was able to retract my foreskin without any issue from my adulthood but faced issues retracting completely from the age of 29 or so. I’m currently 31. In these two years I tried multiple home remedies such as using silicon rings, using steroid creams and stretching exercises. But none of these remedies gave me permanent cure. All the results were temporary.

Urologist consultation: Doctor has suggested me to go for a circumcision process - Zsr circumcision

On the day of surgery: I was called 2h before the time for surgery. It was an early morning. I was admitted to the hospital. Nurse checked my Blood pressure, temperature and took some blood to test. It took 1hour to get the results. Everything was normal. I forgot to mention before, I went to the hospital all by myself by my own car driving. I learned the it would be helpful to take a company with you to take care of your belongings while you are in surgery and keep you entertained. But if you are all alone. That is not a deal breaker. just that you need to be careful and be responsible with your stuff. Coming back to my experience, After seeing the reports, I was put on a saline as I was not allowed to eat anything for next couple of hours. Everything is a general procedure for any surgery. After sometime, a nurse comes in to ask if i need any help to shave my pubic hair. I said I’m all clean as I took care of it before reaching the hospital. Later, I was asked to wear a surgery gown and was taken to surgery theater

During surgery: I was told I will be given local anesthesia. My doctor asked me few questions such as Whether I smoke or drink?. After few mins of preparation, Doctor comes to me with a syringe half filled with local anesthesia. He poked this syringe in to my base of penis(right around the area where your ball sack starts). This was something i was not told and trust me this is not painful but as you are not used to putting needles into your genital area, this feels very uncomfortable. Just bare this pinch, rest of the surgery happens damn smooth. I was seeing my foreskin is being cut live with the help of a zsr stapler machine(google this if you are not aware of it)

Post surgery: once the surgery is done you will be left with a silicone ring with very tiny staples in it. Doctor will dress you little tight and you will be back to your personal room. I was asked to wait for 3hrs post surgery. I was again on drip with IV liquid mixed in saline. I was given some food and medicines. I was lying on bed for next 3hrs. I got my medicines, prescription and instructions for post-op. I drive my car for 1hr without any problem and reached home safely.

I thought to add my post-op experience also but this is getting huge. I will post one more for post-op and my learnings throughout. Hope this helps!!! Cheers!!!
