Does anyone know what creams / steroid creams are good for tight foreskin?

I should go to the GP and still shall, but having had this for many many years without complications, I wondered if there was anything I could buy myself that is good to rub in daily to loosen?

I have heard of Bepanthen and the likes, but wanted to check here,

Until you see your GP try massaging in coconut oil. It's natural and might help increase elasticity. I wouldn't use a steroid without advice from GP or pharmacist especially if you have no redness or cracking

If/when steroid cream is needed you need a prescription. Don't hesitate to contact your local GP or dermatologist and ask for help.

Dexpanthenol or any moisturiser might help with dry a skin, but they are not cure for balanitis etc. You can have a diagnose for your health issue.

Hi Jack ! I had the same problem as you. I have successfully used Betamethasone Corticosteroid Cream 0.05%. Here in France, it is sold under the name "Diprosone", but the molecule is betamethasone. It is very effective both in softening the tissues of the foreskin and allowing the widening of the narrow prepucial ring, as well as in lengthening the frenulum. But beware: it requires many months of effort and patience. As well as a lot of diligence. It is necessary to apply the cream and practice stretching exercises each morning and evening. If you respect these imperatives, in a few months the narrowness of the foreskin will have disappeared, as for me, and the retractation of the foreskin can be total and without trouble.

Betamethasone 0.05%. That's the ingredient, the product comes under many names. It is prescription only in the UK but can be bought online from abroad. I'm not a doctor and it may be illegal ;)

For any chance of a steroid cream resolving your phimosis you need prescription strength, not something you can buy over the counter.

I would go to your gp if I’m honest. I had very tight foreskin and went to my gp who referred me to a urologist thinking I would get some steroid cream but I was too far gone for that and ended up being circumcised.

Thank you all. Ryanr Yes I understand, and mine has always been tight. However I'm a little reluctant to go to the GP, as I'm sure he will say the same with me about circumcision.

Which I want to avoid at my age (48) as its never been a problem with Sex etc, and hear some horror stories of men having it done later in life.

But understand that a cream from the GP would be better.

Hi I couldn’t comment on the healing process at 48 as I was 23 when I got circumcised but it sounds like your in the same boat I was and I eventually came to terms with the fact anything has to be better than nothing and circumcision was my only and best option. I got circumcised depression kicked in then i regretted having it done but over 4 years have passed now and it’s the best decision I ever made🤣. Go and see a urologist for a second opinion you may only need steroid cream but even if it’s circumcision you don’t have to have the procedure if you don’t want to.
