Short frenulum (what should I do?)

Hi,

For a while I thought I suffered from a mild form of phimosis, I can easily pull my foreskin back when flaccid and erect but when erect my foreskin collects up near the head of the penis and repeated movement of the foreskin over the head of the penis can cause some discomfort without lubrication (I’ve found this out through masturbation and sex). I also get this tight white line of skin around my penis when my foreskin is pulled as far back as it goes (when erect).

I’ve been trying to find cases similar to mine as I thought it was a problem with my foreskin. But recently I noticed online that I had very similar symptoms to a short frenulum. When I pull my foreskin all the way back the frenulum is very tight and stretched and the head of my penis is pulled downwards.

I have seen other posts online about people visiting their doctors and being prescribed steroid and other creams to help with the stretching of the frenulum and many people have seen good results. So in short I’m asking what is the best treatment cream for what I have and how would I use it? I would like to go up to my doctors about this but with everything going on atm (Covid of course) and my incredibly busy schedule as an essential worker I just simply can’t at the moment and I’m hoping the internet can help me. If anyone can name specific creams I can buy from a pharmacy or online that would be great!

Hi Man it does sound like you have a tight & short frenulum breve and possibly phimosis with a phimotic ring which can be caused by the frenulum. The frenulum is difficult to stretch it is possible to stretch the skin around it the foreskin which might loosen it a little you would need some steroid cream for this. But really your best option is to see your doctor for a proper diagnosis I know it's difficult at this time but they should see you and refer you on. probably a frenuloplasty would be your best option to resolve your problem long time.

I agree with MrMac99 . If you want to get a proper diagnosis for what is going on with your penis you should see a doctor. You may need to see a consultant.

The good news is that all you need is your fingers. Grasp the bottom end if your foreskin where the frenulum attaches, the pull taut and hold for a couple of minutes. Repeat that several times throughout the day. As you apply tension, the skin will relax and be encouraged to create new cells.

As MrMac99 stated a visit to the doctor is in order for a proper diagnosis. I had a frenuloplasty 4 weeks ago because the frenulum would tear during sexual activity. The doctor prescribed a cream that worked for about a two years but the process of applying the cream several times a day and then waiting for the tear to heal became an annoyance. He and I decided frenuloplasty would be a better solution. The last stich fell out three days ago and he gave to go ahead for masturbation yesterday. What a difference! I wish I had done this sooner. Although I don't have a current sexual partner, the experience of masturbating without fear of tearing is a life changer for me. The foreskin's expanded range of motion adds to the pleasurable sensations.
