Post Circumcision Sensitivity

Hello Friends!

I had circumcision surgery during second week of this month. I think my recovery phase is going on pretty well tough there was bleeding, erection pain etc. in the coming few days but now they have mitigated a lot and I am feeling good there. I am having itching/tingling in the site of surgery now, which I feel is a sign of recovery right?

But my major concern now is two folded. Firstly what should I do to decrease the sensitivity of penis opened glans as it feels little pain and unusual feeling whenever I try to walk, even in my house as well. Provided with the fact that earlier it was so nice in this fact, like I can do any movement without worrying about it, but now my whole mind stuck to that feeling of sensitiveness and measures to avoid it. Please help in this.

Secondly, during erection (especially late night or early morning ones), I feel like something is resisting me from full erection, and then I try my level best to stop erection by any means possible. I am worried as I do not want to open the glans fully, maybe that would lead to any complications. Is it normal and advisable to resist the glans to open fully during erection, or can I allow it to open fully? Also please say about that pain/feeling I feel during erection if you know about it or feel the same.

Yours every word of help will be appreciated truly.

Thanks!

The nighttime erections are part of the healing process and yes they are uncomfortable. I found that if I lay on my side and pulled my knees up towards my chest, it helped a lot. Unfortunately you just have to ride them out but they will get easier as time goes on. Things will also feel tight while you still have stitches and are healing.

I had the same problem with sensitivity during walking as you describe, it is a normal part of the healing process. If it has only been 2 weeks since surgery, don't worry about it, I could barely walk for about 5 weeks. Only after 5 weeks I was able to go outside. I would advise you to try and walk a little bit with just your underwear in your house, back and forth, every day for some time. Whatever feels comfortable. Then increase the time you walk with every day so that your penis gets more used to not having foreskin. It will be uncomfortable and hurtful even, just take it slow and careful. Then, try going for walks outside with your usual pants on, preferably the loosest ones you have. That's what I did. First couple of days I couldn't even walk for more than 5 minutes outside, then after some time I was able to walk for half an hour, then an hour, and then I was ok.

The night erections are normal, it is still too early for erections to not be hurtful. Try and minimize them as much as you can.

Hope this helps

This is truly helpful brother, and I really appreciate your words. It at least makes me feel, that I am the only one suffering. It gives a sense of confidence.

Also, I want to ask that is there something that applying Vaseline over glans, makes the sensitivity to mitigate, especially when our cloth fabrics touches the glans while walking, running etc. Please confer me some advise on that too.

Thanks in advance!

First of all, advise to your first question. If sensitivity causes you uncomfortable or hinder your daily activities, try using gauze to wrap around your glans and wear a tight(not too tight in a sense) underwear it will greatly reduce the fiction and rubbing of the glan. It takes around 2 months for the feeling to subside and get used to.

Two, it’s normal to feel pain during erection. It stretches your tender skin that are still recovering and your exposed head is now “fully exposed” so it might feel weird . I felt that when u wake up with erection, my way was to try and pretend I’m squeezing urine or something and it will go down pretty quickly.

So if you keep covering with gauze it will take 2 months for the oversensitivity to die right down

Nighttime erections are very much a huge part of healing and it will be quite annoying, what i tried doing was try to keep an empty bladder 2 hours before sleeping, it worked best with me and with not having to pee in the morning. With the sensitivity what you could try is put a temporary bandage and wear tighter underwear, also switch the bandage about every 1-2 days to prevent it from getting really dirty and potentially infecting the stitches. With the tingling / itching feeling, it most likely comes from dryness in the area so try to keep it moist I guess? I'm not a professional but I'm entering week 2 with the same things, good luck and happy healing!
