There are plenty of over the counter creams that have a mild anesthetic in them, any pharmacist will point you in the right direction.

Rang my local pharmacist he said they do not have desensitising creams

Then referred me to holland & barrett to take some herbal remedy

Does anybody know what this may be called

mainly lidocaine or prilocaine or lignocaine combination. but feel free to ask a medical practitioner as my surgeon forbid to use anaesthesia gel instead suggested petroleum jelly in case of over sensitivity

If you are embarrassed about asking for it, buy infant teething gel. A lot of them have the local anaesthetic lidocaine amongst their ingredients.

Or search delay spray on Amazon. Plenty on offer there.
