Hi I made an account just for this and I’m super embarrassed by this, I found out not to long ago that I’ve been masterbating wrong this whole time. I wasn’t aware that as a uncircumcised man that you were supposed to pull back your forskin and as a result I’ve never done it and im terrified to try. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

You can masturbate any way you want as long as it gives you pleasure. If your foreskin is tight and doesn’t retract, you should see a doctor.

There is no right or wrong way to masturbate. Try not to hurt yourself, if that was not your goal. It would be nice, if you could retract your foreskin and clean your penis behind the glans too.

It is not suggested to use soap onto mucosal tissue, tap water is enough.

Blue, Masturbation either or whichever feels most comfortable for you, I myself don’t retract my foreskin during masturbation but during sex it retract’s it’s self. You should’ve by now been retracting for regular cleaning behind foreskin, As mentioned before if problems retracting try soaped up and gently over a few weeks whilst showering, if you have a problem after then seek medical advise be it your local GP or a sexual health clinic, main thing don’t stress. If you fathers around try talking with him, pretty sure most of us guys went through similar.

How do you clean the glans if you do not retract your foreskin? Is there any reason why you cannot retract your foreskin?

hey! i’m not a male i’m a female.. i was on here looking something up for my boyfriend but i wanted to add something (sorry if that is uncomfortable) but i think that there is no right or wrong way to masturbate, as long as you cum you may have “successfully” masturbated and sometimes you don’t have to cum to be satisfied. it’s all about what you consider to be masturbating.

I was in a similar position to you at that age, Blue, and I know others who have been too. Guess we never had that conversation with our dads or during sex ed! I'd recommend gradually and gently pulling down your foreskin to see how easily it retracts. If it's painful just do it a little bit every day or so, while you shower or something. For masturbation you're fine either way, but for hygiene and when you have sex you should be looking to fully retract. When you can get it down flaccid, then experiment with getting an erection. For me this was the most uncomfortable bit, but just do a little bit each time. You're training your tissue to get more elastic, basically. You'll be fine!

Lots of good advice hear. I was in my twenties before I could pull back, never knew I had to !I would just pull back gently to clean, in bath or shower. masturbation was never a problem nor was sex. I used a condom most times so not an issue, but it did pull back whilst inside once which was a bit disconcerting.

There is no Sex law saying you have to pull back, but beware it will feel tight the first time so best to gently stretch foreskin.

the semen cannot be left rotting within the foreskin nor can you rely on your urine to clean out under your foreskin. follow everyone,s advice about slowly pulling exposed the gland to clean on a daily basis. I think that the smell of unwashed penis of 18 years would greatly put off your girlfriend ...also not sure if you would feel anything wearing a condom (no babies) on your unexposed gland.

Kristen O'Hara explained how the intact penis is supposed to work during intercourse in her book: Sex As Nature Intended It. Ideally the foreskin is pushed back off the glans by the vaginal sphincter on entry ... then the same sphincter should pull the foreskin back over the glans on the outstroke. This helps preserve vaginal moisture ... from evaporating outside the vagina.
