Sensitive & Inflamed

I had a circ done last Thursday, so currently on day 4. The first and second day I had some issues with bleeding, yesterday I felt like I was starting to make progress, so last night I decided to try an ice pack to help with swelling, but afterwards my penis became super sensitive and felt inflamed and was quite painful.

This morning I have soaked it in a jug of water with a bit of salt to help sterilise the area. I have wrapped it in a tissue with vaseline on it, but it is still very sensitive and and I have noticed a bit of yellow on the tissue paper above the frenelum. It is not oozing pus, and I don't think it is urine.

Can anyone advise on if this is a normal part of recovery, eg good days / bad days? Or is this potentially an infection? Any tips on how to soothe the pain would also be appreciated.

Any advice is welcome!

Yellowish discharge is quite normal on first couple of weeks.

Thank you that is reassuring. I’ve had two co-codamol so I’m hoping they help with the pain

Would a cream like Sudacrem, E45 or anything help do you think?

I wouldn't do that, let the wound breathe and heal naturally. Caking a cut with cream isn't going to help much. Your tip will feel inflamed, even sore sometimes, but you've just got to remember what it has just been through haha! For me things started to look ship shape on day 17. In the meantime just kick back and watch movies and let it get it's heal on. You only need to worry if you see thick yellow pus, then you need to get yourself to a doctor.

Thank you. I know each day is a day closer to getting better so I’m looking at it like that.

Just the past 12 hours I have been worried that my recovery wasn’t on track but I just have to keep an eye on things and make sure I am keeping him clean!

I'm not suggest you to use any of those to an open wound. Did you get any post-op care instructions from your local healthcare provider.

Homemade saline bath, petroleum jelly and gauze are enough at this moment.

No tissue. Stick to a melolin wrap, and use no creams on wound. If you must, perhaps a drop of castor oil on wound, nothing else.
