Circumcision looks bad, but will it get better?

Hey guys, I’m on my 8th day of circumcision and I’m losing my mind, the back of my penis looks mad crazy and I think it’s infected but the doctor told me I’m ok I have yellow looking puss and it’s just looks like it’s not healing correctly, has anyone been through this part and got better too??

We all have gone through that. The frenulum part does take much longer to heal. You are just on day 8. For me, it took about a month for the frenulum area to heal 100%. Did you get yours removed? Give it time!

I came on here looking for answers as I have the same issues. From what I gather it’s the same for quite a few, so hopefully no need to panic. I’m on day 5 and I’m loosing my mind. I’m convinced and paranoid about it being infected. Although I’m sure it’s not.

I swelled up like nothing I could ever imagine, I nearly passed out when I took the bandages off and looked at it. Looks like a butchers been at it.

Massive swelling around the banjo string area, and massive swelling under the stitches. So the stitches are hidden between swelling and the head of my cock.

Yellow areas that look like infection, but actually aren’t.

I just want the swelling to go away, as it seems excessive, I honestly thought that after a week it would have started to go down a little.

I'm on day 12, my swelling is still there but only slightly. The main swelling went down on day 9/10

I have such a crazy amount of swelling. It does not look normal at all. Just hoping all is ok.

Ok that made me feel better cause that exactly what I was looking at, I will keep you posted...I was going to try jumping in some sea water but I’m just gone take some home and pour it all over, idk if that’s a good idea or not

If your still in pain go to doctors and ask for some lidocaine cream or instergel it numbs the areas and helps you to sleep.i had Same problem and didn’t go to doctors and ended up with a ulcerated penis not good.

All I no is if you are worried about anything go your GP if not your Hospital Consultant don’t leave it like I did.I had my circumcision in 2017 and I’ve still got to have another operation that’s 5 now

Damn that’s a lot, I will definitely do so, I made a appointment with another doctor but they can’t even see me till the 31st and that’s the earliest smh

You should really use distilled water, boil a kettle then let it cool. I fill a glass and add table salt, it worked a treat.

I am starting week 6 tomorrow and trust me it has been hell of a journey since the surgery. I was equally nervous and going mad with stitches popping.. Yellow stuff .. Pain.. Etc etc.. Still healing and do have some sensitivity but lots improved now. Just hang on there and you will get well. Everyone heals differently. Just maintain good hygiene , stay positive , eat healthy and keep in touch with your doc. You may check my posts on the progress I made. Wish you all good health soon.

You are in early days of healing . Give it some time & all will be well. At present your body is just adapting to the changes .

No problem with testicles as for healing everyone is different to go through pain barrier 2-3 weeks it’s going to feel bloody uncomfortable you can get sterial water from doctors and lidocaine,instergel these are meds’ that they use in circumcision operations don’t be afraid to ask the doctor.

It’s going to be lymph. Yellow like crust usually will fade away after a week this is just part of the healing process. Don’t panic just do your best to keep your penis clean and dry this is important to avoid infections etc. Not just that if you pass pee and you are not cleaning it up it may drip down into the wound or frenulum area etc making it look yellow. I suggest that you use tissue after going to the toilet but also if you get a drip through out your first week to keep soaking it up with tissue this is what I did. Once your penis heals enough and your glans is ready I suggest you use a clean fresh hand towel dab it with clean warm water and dab the penis pee hole.

Above is my opinion/experience of my own aftercare/recovery process. If you are unsure and are concerned about it please contact a GP or your surgeon do not wait around if you believe you have a infection etc. Even if it’s nothing it’s better to have it diagnosed by a doctor.

**Update** Just came from the Doc, it was indeed infected, squeezed the hell out of the big lump I had on the shaft, currently waiting on antibiotics and some painkillers smh

How did you know it was infected? My penis is swollen and itches around the stitches. But no yellow puss or anything bad.

I had yellow puss coming from the incision line and i had a lump That felt a lil hard, it had puss in it, I think you’re ok, itching suppose to be a good sign that you’re healing, just keep an eye out for the any puss other than that, I think you’re coming to the healing stages

That’s worrying. I am weeping a little around the front of the top, around where the banjo string would be, but it’s hard to know if it’s infected, it’s not smelly puss, just seems to be clear. Also around the stitches on the shaft side of my cock, so under the head on the other side of the stitches it feels hard, but I presumed it was just from the swelling. Anyway, hope the antibiotic work for you. I will have to keep an eye on what’s going on with me and go to the doctors if it doesn’t settle down a bit

Sometimes it’s odorless too, I didn’t trust my eye with the color so I took a pic of it, try that and if it seems yellowish, tell your doc asap

My weeping is at the top, abs the hardness/swelling is under the stitches so I don’t think it’s infected. Hope not anyway. Was your weeping and hardness in the same area?

Mine was weeping in back of the shaft under the stitches going horizontally but In that same spot I had that hard lump with pus in it, that was the only thing that was hard, I’m sure you’re ok for now, like you said let the swelling go down and see if anything thing changes

You are still quite early in the 6-8 week journey to full healing. There will always be considerable swelling for several weeks, although it usually starts to reduce after the stitches are removed at 2 weeks.

The yellow liquid is most probably lymph and not puss - which is much thicker and smells very bad. Lymph is natural and essential to healing as it brings 'building materials' to the site of any wound to repair it.

How are things now your on the antibiotics?I was worried so I went to the doctor too. She said she thought it was infected and gave me a course, things seem a little better even after only 2 days.

I believe it’s going good, a lot of the yellow disappeared, the one he gave me he said its so strong it would dry everything up and it’s definitely doing that, that’s good your doc gave it to you as a just incase unlike mine, I got an Appointment Tuesday I’ll update you on what he says bout me

**Update** I’m on my 3rd week now and the doctor tells me I’m good to go after I caught that infection and to finish the antibiotics, when I get a erection the skin felt a lil tight I asked him bout it and he said it will stretch a lil more in time, I’m guessing when I’m completely healed...but now I’m having lil sharp pain in like the middle of the shaft, feel like glass under my skin, and I think it’s cause he handled my thing so rough, I’ll wait a week or something see if it disappears
